Remember molecules still move above -497F. So, your +498F to the good side.

Oh I know. Vancouver puts anything in California to shame on price. I did however think that global warming was going to help Winnipeg some but hey, I guess the warming is slower than Al thought.

I at least would have thought that the prices in Halifax and St. Johns would be cheaper.

Spent Sunday afternoon watching this Mexican station with their state shows about the tourist locations for locals. Swaying palmtrees, spanish horse riding, roasted goat feasts. Been through there and lived about an hour and half from there by car. Very nice. Daytime winter temps in the mid 70s and nighttime in the low-mid 60s. Summer high temps around 85 to 90F and constant breezes. No beaches, but lots of lakes.

We've been checking out where we'd like to retire, and with the Guadalajara airport about 1 hour away, and 2 national airports within 15 minutes of the capital of Aguascalientes, it just makes it ideal. Lower crime rates, good varied economic base, fairly honest government.

    I could be a cowboy again! :rofl2:

Halifax is up because of the new Oil economy. St. John, Newfoundland as well, but St. Johns, New Brunswick is rising because of all the Call Centres based there, for US, European and Canadian firms.

Wait a minute! My thread has been hi-jacked...

Back to our regularly scheduled program:

I really like the turning lights too. Nice a bright. I'm having a heck of a time removing the window tint from the rear window. I don't want to damage the defroster.

    Sorry about that.

So the turning light lenses aren't all frosted/yellowed with aging?

Is it a defroster or deicer array?

If the tint is on top of a deicer array, you'll damage the array (copper bar elements). If its a rear deck mounted defroster, you should be able to cover the deck or even remove it.

I think it's just a defroster array on the glass. I started to steam it off and that was working until the steamer failed to heat again. I got a 4"x5" patch off. Heating the glue is the key. They say that vinegar works and amonia but the fumes would kill me. I may just have to buy a new steamer as that was working slow but effective. One web site said that oven cleaner will take it off. I'm not sure if I dare.

Luckily I'm not to blame as it was on the car when I bought it. If anyone has a defroster array on the glass never, never, ever tint the glass. Tint will not last forever and at some point it has to be removed.:taz:

I had those. I put them in to the 79 Monte Carlo we had and transfered them to the 85 Cougar. They work great! I wish I could find them again.

    Fixes completed on the Tbird

I finally got something done since the new front suspension.

The right door lock switch hasn't worked. Luckily for my Ford was a little forward thinking and made the switch so that it could be disassembled. I simply took it apart, cleaned, applied a liberal amount of dielectric grease, reassembled and it's working now.

The fog lights haven't ever worked. The fuses were good, bulbs were good so it must be the switch. This switch is quite different than the door lock switch but yet it still was made so that it could be disassembled. I cleaned it too but it didn't work. In this case the switch was a sliding switch internally. I had to "reshape" the contacts. They were not making contact but now it does work. Again a liberal amount of dielectric was "spluged" on the contacts. Now for the first time in 12 years they work.

I didn't have any luck with the remote mirror switch. It's very complicated but I haven't achieved total success. The mirrors will not move to the right and or down but they do go up and left. More work will have to be done with this switch.

I also dropped the fuel tank and replaced the fuel pump/float assy. Mainly due to a leak when the tank was full and a very erratic quantity gage. Both are fixed now.

The only things that remain are interior cosmetics at this point.
