Just an update... the car is off the jackstands and I have driven it on public roads a handful of times. It tracks straight and feels solid. It's still not completely done but I am stoked about where it's headed! I am definitely gonna build another one if I get the chance!
Night time. Steel police wheels hiding cobra brakes. That is the official stance. Not too low. Just right. When I get around to the 351 I hope it doesn't drop the front end too much.
When you put the Mustang subframe on, did you have to go to adjustable camber plates for the lowered suspension? And I can't wait for you to do the 351W, but I think, if the springs were new or low-mileage, they shouldn't drop too much, I'd think. You kept the EEC IV SEFI, did you not?
Awesome! I plan to pop SEFI on Babe's 351W using a truck lower intake and an adapter plate between the lower and upper intakes.
Nice! I will be using the lightning lower intake. I hear there is a marine cast iron version of the lightning lower intake. I want one despite the weight just for giggles. Haha!
I can't afford Lightning anything. But I like the idea of using the truck and the standard car manifold to keep the torque up. I don't like sleepy off-line performance.
People used to talk about them like they were falling out of trees. I never could find one and the Lightning lower intakes were always out of my price range so I gave up on EFI on my 351.
When I look at your wagon, I hear the "Peter Gunn" theme by Henry Mancini. Anyway, you can use a standard truck lower, a standard or Mustang 5.0 upper (not GT40 upper), and install a spacer in between. I can't find the thread on Ranchero.us that showed a pic of that, so when I do find it or find out who makes it, I'll post it here.
I saw something like that on the truck or bronco forums once. Someone used to sell it, I just can’t remember who. But yes. It exists.
I found it. BC Broncos sells it. https://bcbroncos.com/shop/fuel/efi/11-82010-efi-manifold-adapter-351302-for-early-bronco/
