The rear brackets are not bolted up yet, because I have yet to drill the holes for the brackets. Also springs and shocks are not in yet. I jacked up on the left side lower control arm to make sure everything would clear. I think I am going to need the low profile rear bushing bolts to run anything wider than 245. I am also going to have to drill an access hole to support nuts or bolts within frame rail to mount rear subframe brackets.
dang...your makin that look easy !! I keep waiting for my buddy Mike.. that bought my Led Zephyr to get on here and show you all hes done to it !!!! its gonna be cool too !! MIKEY.....WHERE ARE YOU????
Thanks! I would love to see what others are doing! That is basically what my Daddywagon is; me, doing a bunch of things that have already been done by others on foxstangs, to my wagon. I am trying to document along the way through pics and all but I think I am gonna run out of upload room on this forum. I don't have a pic storage site. Not sure I want one.
Alright, the rear is in and bolted up. Pics late tonight after work. Ride height is still a little low in the rear, and the irs is maybe 1/4 in. wider per side. The tires on there are 235/55/17. The passenger side is making contact and the driver's side is really close. I'm gonna have to roll the fenders.
The first pic is the access hole I had to drill out to back the four bolts for rear subframe brackets. In the last pic weight of car is on new suspension.
I decided to go long rod 351 Windsor for the Daddywagon. I bought 351m/400 connecting rods off of eBay which should be arriving this week.
These are the long rods for the build up of a long rod 351. On other ford specific forums my proposed engine build has gotten mixed reviews. I hope that someday I'll have this project done and on the road. But it's getting cold out there, may have to start on it again in spring.
Nice wagon. I've done several of these. But the IRS is ambitious, glad to see you pulled it off. You should post this over on foureyedpride.com in the "other early fox" forums. In addition, you can find a wealth of "fox" info. Chuck
