Awesome! Looks like everything is very organized.
Those under dash gauges are the same as what we have in the Ranchito. They look good in your car.

So I just spent an hour on the phone with one of SEVEN children that were raised riding around in the back of my wagon. I found her phone number in the glovebox with a bunch of cool artifacts. She told me of all the traveling they did as a family. Even a story of doing over 100MPH past a sleeping cop at night in the desert. She has some memorabilia she wants to send me and she seemed very excited to see what I've done with the car.

Not many cool updates right now. Wiring is still taking place and is almost done. The battery has been hooked up and there were no fires, so thats good. I just ordered an empty AC box from Vintage Air, to use for mock up. It weighs 3 pounds and is MUCH easier to hold up under the dash to make brackets, etc. It cost about $80 to "rent" the box.

I picked up some parts that I forgot at the body shop. Included was the glove box. I found some cool stuff inside it. All the old maps confirms the ladies stories of all the trips they took :)

This was pretty damn ironic. It appears to be an insert from an old Rand Mcnally atlas. You would fill out the columns with info on your trip ie: gas purchases, oil, tolls, lodging etc to keep track of your expenses

On the other side is a part of southwest virginia on a map. Ironically enough, the small lake at the bottom left is where I live. Our claim to fame in Moneta, VA is where "What about Bob" was filmed. We didn't even have a traffic light back then, but we do now lol

Going on vacation to florida. Hope to have some good updates when I return.

Wow! That's some awesome stuff you found there. Quite the treasure trove.

I can relate to the this. I too was one of seven kids that was raised riding around in my wagon.
They were after all "nine passenger" cars. ;)

riv-nuts put in the fan shroud so I can bolt the fans to the shroud, and the shroud to the radiator. All sealed up with rubber strips so all airflow goes through the fans

spy shot of the ridiculous LED lights. No more low visibility issues :D

    I now have 4 way flashers :)

Met with the upholstery guy yesterday, and hired him. He's working on it now. Just ordered my complete vintage air system. Once we have the condenser, we can mount the radiator and start the car and start tuning.

I have a target to have the car in my hands at the end of april.

    Cooling fans are wired up

The black rectangles on the fan shroud allow more air to flow through while driving down the highway by flapping in the breeze . When stopped or in traffic, the fans will actually suck them against the shroud, and force all the air to go through the fans.

My Craig Pioneer 3108A 8-Track player is finished being serviced. The guy I sent it to is sort of a mad scientist. I recommend spending a few minutes to review his website. He thinks very highly of himself. I get a kick out of it

He also added a pair of USB ports for charging cell phones, my daughters nintendo DS, etc...

And he always films a verification video to show his work. All in all, he had the radio 6 MONTHS and I ended up paying an expedited work fee so I could get my stuff back. His website clearly states "I dont care about your deadlines or car shows. I work at my own pace. Deal with it, or I will send your radio back unrepaired, with a refund minus shipping" LOL

His attention to detail is really very good. All hand bent and soon to be crimped

    Coolant overflow tank
    [IMG]

We ran out of real estate under the dash for everything. To the left of the wheel are some switches. Under the keys is going to be the 8 track player. The gauge pod is next, then the center ac vents. Then the ashtray, and the ac box will be under the glove box. Lots of stuff!

We had to compromise, and move the ac controls and some of the vents. I hate to cut the dash, but the more I think of it, I think it will look just fine, and work better.

My new carpet is in, as well.

So we have a solution! I don't need to really cut my dash up as I thought to make way for my AC vents and controls like this
    [IMG]

a buddy of mine told me that Pontiac made a gauge pod that goes on the dash to the right of the steering wheel
    [IMG]

He had one I could use for mock up purposes, and my gauges fit PERFECT!

Luckily enough, I actually found one of these on ebay for $150, all rechromed. I've dealt with the seller a few times. We've traded parts etc. Real nice guy with great quality stuff. This is the piece.

So, the seller has been buying odd parts off me, like my factory alternator and some other stuff. I couldn't give this stuff away, but this guy wants it all. My wagon was built at the same time as a car he's building, and all my parts have the correct date codes that he needs, and has not been able to find.

So, I ended up getting this gauge pod essentially for free, because he traded me for my factory power steering pump :)
