Exceeded Bandwidth... last night I tried several times to come and visit for a bit and this was the message that I got. White screen, one sentence with this message, "Bandwith has been exceeded" blah, blah, blah and to try later. I couldn't get here at all after several tries over a period of an hour. Being female I automatically jumped to the worst case scenario..."all my buddies are gone forever now what will I do... But here you all are... Do you need to fix something Stef, or was that a one time thing???
OOPS! I didn't see this before I started another thread...sorry, please disregard the other thread... I missed you guys...almost cried to think you were all gone forever...but car guys don't cry right?!
I swear to God I went through serious withdrawls yesterday...my coworkers thought I was going insane.
Really, I mean really we are a SAD bunch aren't we... a couple of hours without SWForums and we all go to pot! Weren't you at work??? getting paid to work???
We are sad aren't we...and yes I get paid while I'm enjoying my forum family, Napa owes me this perk. I need this like my morning coffee, I don't know what I would do without all you characters.
ME! What did I do? It was all Cat! ... ... ... At first I thought it was my computer because my internet has been screwy. I dont know what I would do without the Forum. When I'm not looking at my wife I'm looking at wagons... I need this place... She isnt always here.
Glad the site is back on! It would have been impossible to recreate the restoration 1967 squire wagon restoration post.
I saw that too. Probably one of those Bell Tel quota counterattacks. Its the millions of SWF visitors spying on this rare and friendly forum!!!
The site has a finite amount of bandwidth per month. With all of us yakkin' away, looking at and sharing pictures, the site used up it's quota. When that happens the site hosting company shuts us off until the new month rolls around and we get a new batch of bandwidth. I guess Stef likes us 'cause 'Fox says he upgraded the site to a larger bandwidth package rather than make us wait until the new month rolled around.
I use PDFForge to keep my resto diaries together. Had to install a second drive for it, the picks, and all the info I kept to do it, plus about 30 GB in woodworking files. http://www.pdfforge.org/ Unfortunately, you can only do one page at a time, unless you go text mode, then you can capture all but the pictures.
Thanks. But since today is now Feb. would that have helped this situation also? Thanks Staf for keeping this site up and running.
I wondered that as well. I guess it would depend on which day Stef's host does their billing on to know what day constitutes the first of a month.
I set a ceiling on how much monthly bandwidth the site can use. I did not have to upgrade the hosting package, I just raised the bandwidth limit.
I'm with Xav! Thank you soooooo much Stef! You have no idea how much this forum means to us. One day without it was almost like a sick torture of some kind. I swear to God I must have checked 60 times to see if it was up.
