Blackie...that rust area is THE common area to rust first. I'm not sure why....exhaust? Anyway...I have seen guys fix that area with long term good results. Holy Sh!t! You must have hit the mother of all deer!
Mike, my exhaust runs on the right side only, L05 cars run single exhaust, easy way to tell a 91-93 from a LT-1 powered 94, since they run the same mirrors. Im gonna patch her up and give her a full repaint before the white shat falls again. Maybe even change the color to a Dark Purple and go woodgrain delete. She/he was a big'un. but it does not help that I was running 75mph when she popped out of the median and was running full out across the road. She had to weigh 120lbs, but at that speed, she was more like 1200lbs.
Great to hear, it really is. Hoping things continue to be that way. BTW if you decideto want to sell parts off of Moby let me know.
Oh...yeah....I keep forgetting the year of that wagon. A brighter blue....ugh. You know me and blue cars. If it has to be blue...the darker the better for me. Anyway...that particular rust area seems to fix up real well. And....again, Blackie....I am really, really happy about the reuniting of your family and your new job!
I work in 2nd shift receiving for CHAT of Pennsylvania, we ship 90% of GE's locomotive parts around the world. Anything from nuts and bolts, to the alternators, V16 diesel engines to the entire drivers cabs. Its a cool job and never boring.
As I said before Black, bummer about the car but it's nice to read your family life is getting back on to a better path
Hey brother how much do you think it would cost fer you to ship a fender to me. I need a passenger side fender bad fer my 92 Roadie. Finding one is like tryin to find an honest politician or a lawyer that dont lie. One er the other. I can get caprice fenders all day but they are without the trim package. If you want to part wit dat passenger side fender let me know. I will pring fer the whole cost includeing shipping.
I'm still debating on what to do with it. It has so many nice parts on it and I might rebuild it with time. But if I do decide to just let her go, I will be parting it out and you guys will get first crack at parts. It needs mostly sheet metal and radiator and the motor rebuilt. She is locked up tighter then a nuns chastity belt. Big Ugly, the passenger fender is solid and the trim is all there. So if I do tear her down, you get first crack at the fender. Stickman, if I part it out, you get first crack at the plastic tank and pump. Though how to ship a used tank might be tricky. I'm about 5 hours west of ya if you wanted to make a trip out and rob any parts off it you want, you would be more then welcome to. I know if I gut it, I want the seats, dash cluster, windshield, air leveling pump, brand new front rotors, brakes and calipers, tranny, motor, and some other small parts. The rest will be up for grabs. Has 4 perfect doors, darker caramel interior panels, good glass, front bumper, tail lights, passenger headlight, trim is all good except tail gate and driver front fender. Tailgate is thrashed and the lower tailgate stainless trim is bent to hell. I also have a almost 90% complete lighter tan interior, 91/92. Im missing the front seats and a few small pieces, the rest is all there has leather rear and 3rd row seats and all brackets for the 3rd row. If someone wanted to change out the fugly blue or red interior for tan or looking to replace any missing or busted up pieces.
Sucks to see the wagon die. I'd like dibs on driver side rear door trim piece, the large vertical running plastic piece on the rear most door, mine took flight on the interstate...I seem to be finding alot of things that were epoxied on just to sell it....all of my rubber trim on the stainless is falling off in the rising temps.
A couple years ago, a girl, I think she was 14 or 15 was riding in a car near here when a buck's antlers came through the windshield and took one of her eyes out. She was lucky it didn't kill her, but she still lost an eye. Hate you lost the Roadie, but glad nobody was hurt. That's the important thing.
