I’ve been following this from the beginning. You said yourself you wouldn’t consider thrashing a good one for your “monstrosity”. I totally agree with Orthmann. It’s a travesty, in my opinion to take a really nice original and chop it up and paint it tinkle yellow. If you find a worn out one that you’re going to customize, more power to you. It’s already in the grave yard. Also, it needs the same level of modification that the really nice original would need. I always figure the title in in the guys name, so that’s some license to do whatever you wish. I just have an issue with taking a good original car, and excessively changing it around. I mean if your gonna customize a 4x4 running gear, and chassis. What difference does the original stuff make? I love hot rods and modifieds. Living in New Mexico I have certainly seen my share of lolos and gassers, as well as a plethora of cars that bounce. I always feel like it’s admiring another guy’s wife. I can think it a beauty in its own right, but not for me. As far as the ‘59 Ford is concerned you mentioned you were asking for “a friend” that is my opinion for the car to your friends question.

'Asking for a friend' was a joke. This one is too nice to tear up.

I figured as much. When anyone asks for a friend, I assume there’s a wink and a nod in there someplace.

Interesting project. There are a lot of passionate, resourceful folks here. Over the years we have followed a bunch of creative restos, looking forward to watching yours.
Hope you find the right wagon for the job.

    Welcome aboard.

I seen pics of that one. It's sweet, but nicer than I'd want. Mine will have to be beat up a bit, because it's going to end up that way anyways. I love forums like this. It's filled with people who've forgotten more about wagons than I could possibly try and learn.

I remember this one Marshall. If I recall it was very well done.
