I don't remember what I got these for but I'm thinking you could probably find the various versions on ebay in the $50-100 range, depending on condition. It'll just take some time.
This combines two of my favorite things, Lincoln Mark V and station wagons. I'm sure this falls into the "If you have to ask" category but how pricey is pricey?
I think he was asking $18k or so, but I'm not sure it sold.... Member's name is barron.flanders Drop him a PM.....
Thanks for the info, I looked him up, he was asking 28k, way out of my range. It seems like this car would do well at Barrett Jackson.
Being so unique, a 'live' auction is probably where the seller should go. Don't know what his situation is. I seem to remember something about the vehicle being acquired by his father some years ago....
1986 Ford Lincoln I'm currently in the process of buying a 1986 Ford Lincoln Hearse. It's beautiful, I drove it the other day. Talk about leg room front and back!!!!
Funny. I found this same wagon posted in a German forum. What's going on:confused:: http://www.us-car-forum.net/community/showthread.php?t=11900&highlight=stationwagon
Looks like the German forum thread was about the same subject - Lincoln wagons, or 'shooting breaks' .......... As to the Mark 'shooting brake', member Barron.Flanders lives in the east bay area of California - say around Oakland somewhere, and his profile says he's a 'student', and drives a LR3 Land Rover as his daily. He was only on here for about a month in 2010, with a mention that he was trying to sell the Lincoln. The conversion was done by the National Coach Corp. in Detroit, Mi. I've done an internet search, and I can't find any pics of another Continental shooting brake like this one. It could be a 'one of one'. I think this would be a great addition to Shelby18's fleet........ Love spending OP'sM........
Smooth ride, comfortable seats, and OOOOhh the way it drove would send chills down the spine of even the dead... What a car...[/QUOTE] Xav- I have to agree. One of the favorite cars that I have owned was my 88 Town Car. I have had a couple of Buicks, a Chrysler, Cadillacs, and other Town Cars from the 90s and now the 04. The 88 was still the most comfortable ride. Loved the seats in that thing and you could turn the steering wheel with one finger.
I've looked at a 1986 Lincoln Town Car and my '86 Country Squire side-by-side...The conversion IS possible, but would involve swapping the entire front sheetmetal, and all four doors, just to start. You would have to remove the front half of each rear quarter panel and mold them into the Ford (or Mercury) wagon quarters. Utilizing the Lincoln taillights would involve a LOT of work, but could be done. Of course, the dashes are different, but if you were to remove the entire dash assembly and swap it into the wagon body, that's very doable. The Lincoln front seats swap directly, and a good upholstery shop could make the Lincoln rear seat covers fit onto the Ford wagon seat springs and foam like it was meant to be.
