I was Google image searching for pictures of wagons with woodgrain, when I saw a blue one without woodgrain, but it had grey ralley rims on it. Then I realized that it was my wagon! I clicked on it and came here. I had signed up almost 3 years ago, but never posted. The '73 has a turbocharged 455 in it, and so far has run a 12.28 @ 114mph. Hopefully 11s are just a matter of getting it off the line under boost! The pictures posted here make it look better than it really does; http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11516 If you see it in person, just close one eye and squint!
And.......HOW much does that wagon weigh????? to the wagon train the second time around, Jern! Glad you spoke up this time.
5115 lbs, 5280 with me in it. Yep, that's me in the straw hat. I'm looking forward to going again this year!
I type slow! I signed up just after starting on the wagon. I never figured to get much past a protective coat of paint by now, then spend the next 5 years or so "tinkering" on it while I got caught up on some other projects. However, a really neat idea for the woodgrain popped in my head and now I'd like to do that first! All things considered though it probably still won't happen until next year.
Well on the other hand, I have 1950 posts and my wagon is in a bunch of boxes...guess you can guess what I'm good at
Jern. So you are a little slow sometimes. I won't begin to tell you the projects I've got started which originally would only take a week or so! It's not how fast we work, it's how well we do it...Or if we do it, that counts. I never did work fast. I work half fast! Have fun playing. That's the hobby part of this hobby!
Update! Ran a 12.002 (so close!) at 114mph, and a 12.03 at 116.92. Then the trans broke. I'll just have to build it stronger and try it again!
does this mean we want see or hear from you for another three years...I hope my car is done by then...
