I,ll probably never do it, but for a couple of years I've been thinking of putting a Mustang nose on a Fox bodied wagon. Has anyone done this?

There's a lot of hardware to replace, AND the fender creases don't match with the side panels. Do a sleeper. Mustang the heck out the interior and the then drop any powertrain that fits into any Mustang. Well, except for this:

I agree with the above along with giving it the LTD LX treatment on the exterior. I think that would look pretty sharp.

I still have a 85 Mustang and have thought about that front clip on my old Fox wag..........NO!

IF, and I still would have to look at the 2 side by side would be the 79-83 Mustanng nose if any thing, not as "bulckey" but then again.......

I Duno, it just does'nt seem rite, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I thought about this before, but IMO, the LTD front end makes it unnecessary, since it looks quite a lot like the Mustang front end. Just work with the trim and grill a bit......

I think the 1984 LTD side panels would match the front Mustang clips from 1979 to 1987. They're more rounded on the top crease. The issues start with the brakes, suspension, radiator cowl (is lower than Fox sedans and wagons) Then you need to change all the front wiring harnesses. Drive shafts are different lengths (1 inch shorter), and if the Stang has rear disc brakes or the fancy suspension, you have to modify the wagon frame for the rear swaybar, and control arms. The V8 wagon front swaybar is bigger than the Mustang unit. That's what I have in mine, and it is excellent, better than the Mustang by an extra 1/8" diameter.

Plus, the Mustang weighs 200 lbs. more than a Fairmont/Zephyr wagon. LTD, Villager and Marquis versions weigh about the same as the Mustang.

Although a smaller pic you can blow it up and see how the fenders don't do a correct fit to the rest of the wagon body.

I had similar dreams of grangure with the Crewzer, I have a parts calais 2 door that I wanted to put the front end on my wagon. After tons of measurement, yeah it can be done BUT in order to do it and make it look like it's supossed to be.....the time involved to do it rite....I'd rather drive my wagon. If it was a true beater maybe, but why fix some thing thats not broken.

That one doesn't look too bad to me. I saw a pic of one with a 87-93 Mustang nose on it and it didn't look right at all. If you could somehow pull off a look like this with a wagon, I think it would be hot.

That's pretty. Looks like a Capri grille on a Z7 Coupe.

I thought about doing it, but that was because the car had been smacked already and needed new panels. The car got written off so that's not going to happen. But I was looking at Capri front clips.
