Sorry we didn't meet up GN, I'm always late, very consistent that way. When there is a baby around he makes the time lines. I got to the show about 12:20. Waited around then had your name announced but I figured you had aready left...another time. :)

Was there only a short time(wife, hot, etc).

Did you notice the Cummings powered Lil red truck?

I'm wondering if it is the same one that had a v-10 a couple years ago.

I have seen this truck a few times before...not sure what the engine is. I got a few pics of the wagons that were there, I'll upload them later. It was a very hot day. Did you do well yard sailing? :)

Wifei got a complete(heavy) set of cook books for the daughter in law.

some dvd's and i got a couple of matchbox king size for my collection.

Ended up at sister-in laws,(dartmouth)had someone come banging at the door

saying the house around the corner was on fire!

Was actually 2 houses lost, 3rd damaged .

Search u-tube for Dartmouth nova scotia house fire.

My video on my new camera is better but still need lessons on getting one to talk to the other!

No one hurt but soot left an awful mess on the van, just another excuse

for an extra wax job as washing alone took 90% only.

I saw that fire on the news, looked really bad. What part of Darmouth was it?

In those "row houses" ($$$$)buy the toyota, honda dealers.

I can get there but not sure of the names.

I said from the first time we visited, that the houses were way too close together for mr.

Apparently it was a cigarette tossed into a flower box that started the fire.
It amazes me how they know this. You would thing with that much damage done, in such an intense fire that there would be nothing left to check for.

Sometimes a video camera for security on the block somewhere, say some commercial building or even the parking lot, and others have them on their homes, gives the fire investigators pretty good evidence.

Other times the person who started the fire actually owns up and says it started here and we couldn't get it out.

They have gotten this fire investigation science down to, well, lets just say a science. I'm always amazed at how they figure out a "something" caused this massive destruction, which includes the area where the "something" was, but they do a darned good job.

How sad that so many people lost their homes and valuables because someone did not dispose of a cigarette properly. Someone once disposed of a cigarette through the part open window of a car in BC that had a couple of dogs in it:mad:. That was very sad

It was extremely windy that day, i can see a butt setting the plant on fire etc.

burn patterns show a lot .

    I'll never understand this:
It takes at least a couple of wooden matches or a butane lighter and some kerosine to light the BBQ or a trash/camp fire. With dry, crumpled newspaper underneath, and me blowing on the embers.
My cigar goes out if I don't puff on it every few seconds.
So how does a cigarette butt tossed carelessly into a flowerbox filled with dirt manage to blaze up and burn down a house or start a forest fire? o_O

I've seen it, the one in a million perfect conditions. Many years ago I was working at a building and they had a smoking area a good distance from the building. Lunch time came and went and all the smokers were gone. Atleast a hour later myself and one of the workrs there got a faint smell of smoke now and then, we were apx 150 feet away inside a bay door. After looking several times we noticed faint smoke in the breeze coming from the smoking area. We went over and about a 6sq ft area of cedar chips in the garden were smoldering. You could see that a pefect small breeze had started the fire, a burnt up ciggarette but was at the edge. We got it out and flooded it with water..... Glad I was NOT there for lunch, The bosses were pritty ticked.

One tossed smoke did this. Will the first home owners insurance have to pay for the damage done to the other house? I would think so???

Wow...what a shame. I notice that those houses seem to be awfully close together.
