This is our favorite pub! See the green awning? It's over the water, absolutely a fabulous place to have a beer and a steak! We had suggested this place( i don't remember the name) to friends of ours that where heading there last summer, they enjoyed it every bit as much as we did...do. Sorry Mike about the confusion, the race is actually in Loudon NH, but we stay in a small town about 45 mins. away(Dover). It a sweet place, the Days Inn is within walking distance of a few shops, a few pubs and a market. So it's perfect for us. Dover is out of the main stream so it's not as busy getting to and from the track and the hotel rates are a bit lower. It's close to the Maine border so it's easy to get to when we arrive and it's just as easy when we leave . It's has all the amenities we are looking for, we love it there, really missed Dover as much as the race when we didn't go last year. GN this Dam has an extreme historical story, years earlier the was a flood in this river that passes through the center of town and alot of the downtown was damaged. But you really have to see it so take a trip down sometime, maybe this July? We could meet at the Days Inn, enjoy a steak and a brew or two and a walk around the downtown.
What are the chances of falling over the rail at the Pub into the water and then over the falls? We have friends who live someplace up in that area during summers when they are not hanging out like snowbirds in Florida. Friends from NH and VT brag about the beautiful scenery up there. Just never been up that far. So many nice things to see all around us.
I've never traveled the north east either, Cat. But I shot a documentary in and around Stowe, Vermont during the fall once and it was gorgeous!
Game on! You guys could meet GN and I at the pub we could find out how easy it is to push a Cat over the rail and down over the falls and enjoy a steak, beer, salad whatever...come on guys life is way to short to just stay home!
Wow, Fannie - good for you guys. There is nothing to keep the fires kindled (spousal and automotive) than a vacation, quiet time, some refreshment, and even some car stuff. Hope you have an outstanding trip.
Thanks. I was wondering if picking up a few things that I need for Fannie, like floor insulation(heat resistant stuff) is worth while or wait until I'm ready for it...could be another year...
Some times having the parts in stock makes assembly so much easier as you can just get to it next without wondering when it is going to arrive. And, it is available now, what if when you need it, they are out of stock? I've also found that when I have the part I'm more motivated to keep going to get that part installed. I know it is there, I know it is a major milestone when I get to that stage, and it feels good to get it done. But that's just me.......perhaps? You are there, you may as well grab it, would be my suggestion.
Sounds like an offer I can't refuse! I say let's have the steak, beer, and salad before we go out on the deck. Also I may bring my life preserver just in case! I also noticed the little safety disclaimer to protect the guilty from the law----------a Cat????? No officer, I wasn't drunk, I was pushed! My wife has pictures!
After I wrote that I had second thoughts. I don't know if I could trust my wife and fannie together near water.
Gee thanks! That's why I'm wearing a new life jacket and taking a large rope with a hook to attach to something sturdy like a railing. I'll wear shorts and sandles so the water will flow right out. At least there are no Gators or poison snakes up there.
