my wagon had the 305 from factory in it, along with the 200 metric boatancor it also had a 2.41 rear single peg leg rearend. i have since swapped out the motor trans an rearend. to a 80 305 from a camaro ( cheap price) th350 and 3.08 selection

i have 4 gbodys an they can take a beatin. my old cutlass had a 455/th400 and i beat that thing to death! lol

with it having over 100k on the clock. be sure to check those frame rails on the rearend past the rear wells just because it looks mint body wise those frame can still rust an rott real bad

    Phantom...I have a ??? for you

Since you have a 83 wagon... Or anyone else who has gone thru this stuff...
Do you have the wagon sitting up any? I would really like a little higher stance, and I was wondering the best way to go about it without all the trial and error stuff. I know the 15" will bring it up a little but maybe an inch past that. I'm not so concerned with whippin' it around corners and all, but sitting so low makes it look a little whimpy (actually allot...). I need shocks, and I'll be swaping out trailing arms before I get going on the motor so the springs will go in then. I don't like the spacer thing...cheep and overdone, IMO... Right now the wheel openings overlap the tires by about 1.5", but the tires are whimpy 14s and a 70 series. Did you go with airshocks on the rears? Did you replace the front spring also? My wagon tilts the scales at about 3600lbs. The insulation and trailing arms will bring it up about 200lbs., I only say this if someone is thinking about some special springs to use or the weight rating on new springs. The new motor and the other stuff (tranny and such) will bring it to right at 4000lbs. (then there's me and whomever riding with...lol :biglaugh:).
Anyway, Thanks for chiming in!!! And do you have any pic's of your wagon???
As, I'd really like to see them.
    Looking forward,
    Bruce

    Here she is...

    Hi Guys,
I finally got to sit down and add some pic's. Messy engine compartment and all!!! It will be changing soon (I hope). Wasn't able to install pic's as a Malibu...so I picked a NOMAD (maybe someone needs to look at the drop-down choices for STYLE of wagon). Anyway. just about to get plugs in her and check out the hesitation a little further. The plugs were very sooty/nasty. I set the gap at 60(as per AUTO&#*$), I hope that is correct!!! Sorry about the glare but I took them @4:30pm.
    Thanks for everything GUYS !!!

I thought 60 was a bunch also, the old ones (Bosch) were at about 70 and sooted over. Our H/O '79 is at 45 but that is a 350. This is my first 305. I'll pull them and regap if you think, :slap: not a really big deal!!!
Thanks, (soot anything to do with the module, or not just yet, just the hesitation???)

    What's the Gold car...?

The Gold thing is a '79 H/O, t-top that one of my sons' is restoring. He is about done with the interior and the t-tops. We don't want to monkey around too much with it as it has value as a 1 of 237 white t-top cars made. He will be keeping that for the rest of his born days (or as long as I'm alive). That was his 1st. car, but it is/was a little too much to drive on a daily basis. Gas mileage is in the dumper and it attracts too much attention from the local law enforcement, even when he IS being good. We mostly take it to local car shows and get-togethers. Midnight beach rides and things like that. We will be going thru the engine in about a year and freshening it up, even though it was done about 3-4 years ago. I'm thinking a street roller, some headers, intake and calling it good. No rust and in great condition with the original engine. We changed out the rear end to a 3.73, but I think it will get swaped with the wagons rear. He insulated the whole cabin and trunk with Thermo-Temp and 2 layers of the foil stuff, so it is now QUIET inside. No more squeaks and rattles. He will be doing that to the wagon once we get it more running. Takes about a week and $500. in products to do it right, getting the plastic trim and inside the doors. But even better, we got rid of all that jute/fiber insulation that smells so great!!! We still have to figure how to get it sitting squarely off the ground, the drivers side sags about an inch, even after doing the springs and shocks. Had it on a frame machine and everything is correct, so we may have to shim it, but we havn't done the body mounts yet. Had some issues with overheating with the gear. Added a 4-row aluminum radiator but the engine may have some blockage, as the rear of the engine runs at about 395degrees and the front is at 190. Any suggestions...I/we will be happy to listen. Drained and flushed the block 2 times and nothing new happened. Running water wetter and H2O only, put on a high volume water pump, which some think may be the problem...I don't see it, as it's keeping the front cool. The radiator is running at about 140-160, according to the heat scanner gun thingy. The temp. probe is in the front, and rarely gets over 200, at the intake manifold.
