Good luck. Colony Park...you'll have to raise your pinky finger on the steering wheel as you drive. I'm loving our 89 CV!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Keep us posted on that wagon, bfm! It looks decent in the pix but, as you say, the pix are not of the up close variety. I hope it's a good rig and a good deal for you.

    Badabing! :D

I spoke with the owner yesterday. The car has a lot more wrong with it than I had hoped. A couple of the power windows don't work. The rear window don't work, Front brake rotors are worn down. Paint pealing on the passenger side door. (he was a rural mailman) A/C don't work. I'm begining to wonder if it starts. :D
Juss kidding. I'm still going to look at it though. Ya never know. I realize it's a 22 year old car. I own 2 new cars, so I'm not looking for new. I'll let youz guyz know the whole story once I see it. (y)

Yeah, did you get it? I guess the week end is not over yet but it would be nice if it turned out for you. I have a soft spot for these wagons...I miss my old one.

I still miss my 1965 Country Sedan and 1974 Gran Torino wagon. I feel your pain. Gonna look at it Monday. I just love these cars so much.

Well......They say all good things come to those who wait, right? Well....I still waiting. :D

Actually, I had forgotten all about this car because I've been so busy with work and I've simply had very little time to come on here, never mind look at cars to buy. That said, I got an email today from the guy selling this Merc and it's still available. So I told him that I was still interested and I had forgotten all about the car. I figured he sold it by now. Anyway, I have way too much money out at the moment, but I mentioned to him that I would look at it and buy it within two weeks if I liked it. That's when I'll have "Disposable $$$".

Anywho....I'll let you all know how it all turns out, but I think I'm just gonna buy the damn thing and start workin' on it before I croak.

Ah,this post is driving me crazy! For some reason, the picture that everybody's talking about didn't come up on my computer. Being a huge Colony Park fan and owner, I'd love to put in my two cents, but I can't since I don't have the pic. Is this the one from Craig's List you're talking about, BFM?

If it is, I say go for it. How wrong can it be for only $850?!! Those are definitely the factory Ford alloy wheels on there with the Mercury center caps. Country Squires had the same wheel option but with a Ford center cap.
I'm not sure this is the car that you're interested in Big Ford Man, but pursuant to a discussion we had a few weeks back, since this wagon doesn't have the wood on it, it's technically not a Colony Park. It's a Grand Marquis wagon. Regardless of the name, believe me, they make nice rides whether it has the wood or not, and you'll absolutely love it if you go for it, which I whole heartedly think you should.

Yes snooterbuckets, that IS the car. :thumbs2:

And you are also 100% correct about the name. It would indeed be called a GM wagon instead of CP because of the lack of "wood". Yeah, I love a BIG Ford/Merc and I will be buying it I do believe. The last BIG Ford wagon I owned was my 1974 Gran Torino wagon, so I'm really looking foward to owning this one. Those Turbine wheels are smokin' ice too. Hopefully they'll look intact and not too scuffed up when I see the car in person.

I do know that there are things wrong with the car and some things just don't work anymore, but I don't care.... It's not going to be my daily driver. I'll let you know when I get it.
