I still have pictures of Sandy our Akita/Queensland mix. Great friend she was. She'll be missed forever. She had cushings disease and had congestive heart failure at 11 years old. A great 11 years. She finally got so she was too weak but her tail sure still could wag when I came home from work. We were heartbroken for many weeks so I understand Tedy. Keep rescuing those beautiful dogs as we can live with the loss but imagine their feelings being alone and unloved. I wish we could save them all.
That's great Tedy, I hope Rascal is ready for a new buddy? So your starting a fence...have you finished your deck? Just asking.
Sorry for your loss, I have a picture in my mind of beautiful girl pup It just seems our pups do need a 4 legged friend, I both Bart and our no Rascal gave him a longer life. Rascal by himself just doesn't have the "pep". At the dog park and when the dogs came to visit as last wekend he was full of pi** and vinigar and happy. Alone, it's a sad happy. Going to be alot of work for sure, re-puppy'ize the house again, we had to for Rascal and as he grew and learned.... we could leave anything anywhere and he won't touch it rite down to a plate of people food on a coffee table. However, a clean pile of socks out of the dryer...thats another storyI think it's going to be good for Rascal, although they are the same age and Griffin as a bigger build of a dog we think Rascal will be the "Big Brother". I would work with Rascal out in the front yard with a leash and Kirby off leash. Rascal now does hang out in the front with me off leash and stays on the property. Now Rascal will be the one off leash as we show Griffin all the things Kirby tought Rascal....where do good puppys lay...etc, etc, monkey see, monkey do all over again. It's gona be a high energy house again, and I feel all of us will benifit The Deck....I didn't get another coat of decking on as I wanted but it's more than water proof for the winter, stairs are 99% done, painted, with the exception of the hand rail (needs paint). The 224, 1.5"x1.5" pickets all got water sealed, primed, and 2 coats of paint. All the 2x4''s and 1x6''s got water sealed even though they were preasure treated but they are not painted. It's all screwed and lag bolted together so if a new pup desides to eat some thing when we are not looking, every thing is a eazy replacement. Rascal had a chew'n thing going on and we only replaced the deck once we got him out of that....kids I sure hope Griffin doesn't eat this one I'll most likely only have a fast and nasty temporary fence up by Saturday nite. I'm gona re-design the gate I have to install. Rite now Rascal can see through the existing one because it's picketed, so I'm gona make the new one the same see through. We both feel it's important for our boys to be able to see outside, not be behind a wall. I have today and tommorow off so I can get alot done, but today I'm just gona putter, if at all! I had a abcsess tooth removed yesterday and it didn't come out eazy. My jaw and half my face is huge
This is a fun journey, Fat! I will be interested in hearing how Rascal gets along with Griffin. He sure got along with Jackson!
I can't wait, I feel like a kid waiting for X-Mas. After meeting Jackson and what the lady told us about Griffin, I have a real good feeling.
