    so....

apart from being flogged in the pit of despair that i call work..(i deliver for a certain office products company) and we are being told to do more with much less so im not on often cause im about dead when i get home.
the Verizon call center that Jenn works at closes thursday so she will be looking for a new job. (she wont relocate ...i already tried)
    here is whats new.

finally got my CJ7 mostly roadworthy and as i said here are pics!
for those who missed my last post.. its a 76 (cough cough)
    with a 258ci AMC I6 and a T5 with a dana 300.
    and yes...that is kubota orange!

finally got it home yesterday and first thing i did was take the top off!

so...i bought it from a friend who cautioned me that it was not running well when i bought it. but he had a parts jeep that he basically included the engine out of if i wanted it.

so between me and 4 other friends... we could not get the engine to run right or have any power (wouldnt climb a hill even in first gear) and backfired through the carb. i had the 2 bbl weber 32/36 that was on it professionally rebuilt. and checked the timing. no change. i had an old mechanic friend tune it...no change. so after talking to another friend and his buddys dad (both are jeep fanatics and actually know more about jeeps than i do) and the 3 of us poking around with it for 3 hours, we determined that the timing chain slacked and threw off the timing too far to get it to run right. so...i said screw it and got the new engine out of my buddys parts jeep.

    old motor with weber 32/36

so...to my surprise .. the new motor had an offenhauser intake and a holley 4bbl and runs like its scared.
so with a huge hand from my friends joe and bob. (bob is a mechanic) we swapped the motor last weekend.

so...apart from a valve cover gasket that is leaking onto the exhaust...she is ready to rock.

side note...the headers are split dual exhaust headers (headman i think.)
and i have to tighten the damn things up about exery time i drive it....anyone else have that problem?

Very nice looking rig you got there. I thought that particular shade of Orange looked familiar...

yeah rick, im pretty sure locking bolts is going to be the answer here.
i dont know if they are hedman or clifford. both look so similar i cant tell.
the split headers is a P.I.T.A but true duals with no cats and flowmasters sounds MEAN! it sounds like an 8 at idle and a little above.
