Good things come to he who waits, SF. Hang in there, you'll find one.

Thanks, Dogbone. I was on it and thought I had a deal with the owner and the guy from Iowa jumped in somehow and will be in CO tomorrow morning. The Iowa guy turns them over for more money in the midwest. It is almost impossible to buy one of these. They are popular with the Suby set and there are way to many resellers that are geared to react fast and will give a little more money to make more. If he doesn't already have a buyer....look for it on CL or ebay for $2500 or so.
I'm really disappointed. The owner was talking to me like we had a deal and suddenly this reseller will be there tomorrow. The owner said he wanted it to go to a good home. It would have with me. Now, it isn't.

    Well...................that sux. :(

Glad at least you were on top of it, too bad about the reseller.

Still hoping you find a good deal on a local one eventually.

I'm still a die hard fan of the ugly-duckling EAs, at least I don't have to worry about (any?) competition for the kind of Subes I'm mostly interested in.

Currently my mental wheels have been turning all evening over this one:

Already has a running EJ 2.2 motor swap and dual range tranny transplant, nice (if not overly "pimped") interior, and a NICE, clean, rust free body.

Basically anything and everything I would imagine doing over the long term to my current Loyale, already in place for around $1k. :scratchchin:

Anyway, too bad about the deal falling through, we'll keep looking.

He put an EJ22 in that. Must still have the 4 spd, DR. Has problems but could be a fun car when done up right. Can't hardly beat the price. Especially if he would take a little less.:D

Yeah...thanks, moto. I'm really po'd about it. We were emailing back and forth like it was mine and he knew I had medical tests yesterday or I would have called the airlines and scheduled a flight right away. Then the Suby reseller that's all over the Internet jumps on a train and suddenly I'm SECOND in line...."if the guy doesn't buy it." Well...of course he's going to buy it....they sell for 3 times that in the rust belt. The seller claimed that he insisted that it go to a good home....well...I would have brought that hatch back looking like new. This buyer will just make a profit and not care who buys it. Man.....I long for the old days when a man's word was golden.

Here's one in Washington State. Bad engine. $275. Interested in such a project or do you want a runner?

I will look at most anything except a rust bucket, Dog. This one, however, says it has a 1.6 engine??? Anyway....too far away for an engine swap car. I would have to travel 2500 miles and then pull it back the same distance.:yikes:
    Thanks for your efforts!
