LOL....I've seen ads stay on CL for months and MONTHS after the car was sold. You would think the people would get tired of getting questions about it in their email.

I get home and there is a message for me from the seller/s. Tells me it's not running and the interiour "seems OK". He did leave me a address to view it and also said he and the owner are rarley at home:slap:. It's about 1/2 hour from work, the other way so "if" it's nice out and I'm not burnt out I may do a drive by tommorow. I still don't know about this one.....

REV, you say you bout another one? What Kind Man, Colony????

I left work early to find the beast, nobody home at both houses so I was'nt going to pop the hood to find out what motor etc and did'nt bother to look under the car....what I saw said enouph. The darker pics in the ad make it look a hell of alot better. The passenger side has alot of deep scrape/gouge damage to both doors. Years of gas spillage has permantly dis-coloured the wood. Rear cargo spare tire cover is missing and the rest of the cargo area is in "extreamly" used shape. Dash is cracked. front interiour door panels in poor shape. lots of curb damage to the rims. I did'nt even walk behind the car to look at the tail gate. Interiour VERY DIRTY.

As I mentioned, nobody home so I did'nt even try if the car was unlocked. It's leather by the looks of it BUT i do wonder..?? The seats are in not bad condition except for the dirt.

I'm hoping other Colony owners could shed some lite on this for me....

My 80 was leather and very plush, all pillowey, soft wrinkely, if that makes any sence. These seats look like leather but could they be vynal ( remember I did'nt try to see if it was unlocked, nobody home)? They have the look but are all smooth and firm looking. I know Colonys came with cloth and leather as options but was vynal in the option list also? The reason I ask is my last Fox marquis was vynal but sure as hell looked like leather from 1 foot away.

I would never drive this car because of the body damage( I just don't do that) even if the interiour was mint. This wagon does'nt apear to have been taken care of from day one IMO and I still don't know if it runs or it has any inspection notices but I am a sucker for these Colonys and I will have a driving one again some day ( help me out here Lord:bowdown:) so I am emailing a offer of $100 and if they don't take it, I am done with this one.

It could be an aftermarket upholstery job.

Tedy, I know what you're talking about on the interior. My '87 has the burgundy interior and I've always assumed it's vinyl, but it sure does look like leather. Mine was a pretty basic one; it didn't even have a tape player, just an am/fm, so I doubt it would've had leather. I'll take a picture and post it when I get home.
Sounds like the one you found is in pretty rough shape. Surprising, because the pictures looked pretty decent.
