WOW! First off, Thanks for posting the pix Marshall. I never could have pulled that off without you. My little pea brain just ain't wired fer much on the 'puter. And 2nd, Thanks Guys for all the positive strokes on the Batwagon. A 20+ year love-hate trip putting the Beast together. Mother Mopar improved things over 50 years, as the other breeds did. I just picked a few things I liked and updated while trying to stay true to the breed. I think that's the best course, no matter what breed we love. If you're doin' a "Squire", theirs ah ton of 351's 427's 428's 429's out there. If it's a Nomad then do the 350! Sorry for the soap box. I built the Batwagon to get well into 3 digits and it does, but at 5000lbs and 8 MPG it's no Street Brawler or Grocery Getter. Plans are to make the 1000 mile round trip pilgrimage to Chryslers at Carlisle this July tho'. Time tah go collect the beer canz off the freeway, I need all them dimes! Wagons Ho, Jerry
Naw HandyAndy, Just base coat, clear coat and ah little time with ah fuzzy wheel. They are '95 Viper Green tho'. I had ah little of that left after I found the blend for the Beast. 'Bout everything else under there is Clear coat powder coated tho'! Polishing aluminum every other week iz way down my list of fun activities! Thanks for asking, Jerry
Wow Barn! Just now seeing your incredible New Yorker wagon! Absolutely awesome! WOW WOW WOW WOW! Love it! David
On tour aye? Marshall. I've fantisized about hooking up with 4 So. Cal. Car-Buds I count amoung my friends and all with Neat Grocery Getterz ranging from '55 to '70. Then doing a Route 1 Run from Ventura up north of the bay into Napa Valley. THEN sipping Cabernet 'til we can't hold anymore for ah couple dayz. Only problem iz I figure 'bout ah Grand ah day for the couple weeks it would take for motels, food, AND FUEL! Shipping the Beast both wayz or driving it both wayz, the numberz are 'bout the same.:banghead3: And that wouldn't count filling the Batwagon up with maybe 24 more cases of Cabernet for the trip home! What I said earlier 'bout collecting beer canz off the freeway iz obviously an exaggeration. But I can think of ah few neat sets of wheels that could be added to the fleet for that kinda dough. Or maybe even an addition to the playpen. And we don't even wanna talk abut the Bride wanting to re-furnish the Ponderosa! OH FANTISY'S OH FANTISY'S, WHAT TAH DO WHAT TAH DO? Jer
Yeah, I hear 'ya. When you looks at it that way, it's hard - no, make that impossible - to justify a trip that long. Just watch out for a segment of the Hot Rod Power Tour that gets near you and join up....... Wife and I did a wine country tour back before kids, when we had a '85 Nissan 300ZX Turbo. That was a fun run.......
