I like that they show a ‘79 Cadillac with a MLK reference, who died in 1968. I always got a kick out of sellers on EBay who would sell their ‘69 Continentals and say “Kennedy car type”. Big stretches. I get their both Caddy’s or Lincoln’s, but keep it in the era
I had a chance to buy an old hearse for sale here in my hometown years ago. My wife said no to buying it, she regrets it now. Back then when we were younger she cared about what people thought, now she is like me and could care less. Live and learn but man it would be cool to own one now. I have not seen one for sale since in my hometown. There was one for sale in a nearby town but it was roached and a total rust bucket, not worth saving.
I think that Hearses are neat automobiles and that they provide a great service to folks. I also think that the hearse, in general, has sort of been hijacked by popular culture. Something that was originally intended to be a thing of beauty and respect for the deceased tends to represent the macabre and creepy. Unfortunate, in my opinion.
Yeah, it seems that there are no boundries anymore as to what they're using as art forms, these days. You know, all that stuff you're writing about started with television, if you look back at the Munsters
I'm sure there is a lot of truth to that. The Munsters were more fun loving though in my mind. But they likely contributed.
That might have been innocent script writing. But, you never know what was whispered into the writer's spiritual ear. The next step was taken in the rock music and drugs era. I saw a video with Timothy Leary, a while back. It might still be somewhere at the bottom of my You Tube archive. Once you hear what he had to say, you might judge him as the most evil person who has ever existed
