I just wonder how good of a daily driver it is?

 

hey bubba i saw the magazine article within the past week so its a current issue that just came out ,,,,and i,m not sure how compatible the f- body steering boxes are to the full size car,,, i,ve got a quick ratio box on my el camino and it,s a gigantic difference compared to the stock boxes on my maliboo and cutlass wagons and you could also try coilsprings.com they are in kansas you can give them the needed info and they can make a set of springs fairley reasonable price wise,,,,i was gonna use them but i decided at the time not to lower my big olds wagon,,,, have you tried to find any old cop car specs and or parts ie; sway bars steering boxes etc,etc

 

no not yet right now I just been working on whats needing to be fixed.once thats all done I'll start changing things.

The car is still a darn good DD. It's my weekend cruiser now though. I do use it for the long summer trips from MD->OH->KY->MD.

Lighter valved front shocks and slightly lighter rate front springs would make it less harsh, but it's still quite comfy for the 10 hour return trip from Kentucky.

The springs I use are chevy street stock (dirt track) coils. The benefit of owning a GM product over a Ford is that there is an aftermarket for you guys! We're breaking new ground (and parts) frequently with my wagon and a few other cars.

 

Cool If you don't mind I would like where is the best or first place to get started?

 

Springs and shocks. I don't know the rates on the GM cars offhand, but I'd check out the rates or springs for Impy SS's and go from there.

 

Do you still have factory seats in your car?

 

Yup, stock int/ext. Only change inside is a 140mph Interceptor speedometer. And CD player of course. Most people pass over the car at shows because it looks so stock, even with all the mods I've done.

 

Let us know when you get a gallery here I sure would like to see more. I have a few in mine but for me it's going to be a long process. Right now I have a Olds 307 in mine so the first change will have to be a engine.
