Hello I'm new and I'm just a guy who loves wagons old and new!
Welcome aboard! Nice to have another member from the dry side of the state.
Do you currently have a wagon?
Used to have one. My family had a baby blue 1980 Ford Fairmont Squire wagon that got wrecked a few years ago. I'm currently looking for a 1986 Ford Taurus LX wagon to restore. No luck so far since those cars are getting harder to find.
It's crazy, but true. They used to be everywhere.
Makes me quite sad. I actually found one for sale in Portland Oregon. It was for sale from Febuary all the way til September of last month. the car was in great condition with about 74,000 miles on it and it had the rare Instaclear windshield option to boot but my dad wouldn't let me buy it. It really pisses me off he did this to me considering how close it was and how the seller was literally willing to use his own truck to tow it from Portland to Spokane. Before the 86 Taurus wagon got sold the price had dropped to 1500 which I could have totally done.
Wow. That sounds like it would have been a pretty sweet deal.
Welcome to the forum. So glad to see folks your age into the older wagons. I had an ‘87 Sable wagon for a while. They/Taurus too are really nice cars. Good luck with the hunt.
Yeah I think wagons are really cool. Better than Crossovers which I'm sick of.
Welcome, man! If your old man put the kibosh on the buy, I'm guessing you're living at home? I almost said to just go ahead and buy what you find, but you will need a place to park/store it. Also, Having owned a sedan, and nearly owned a wagon, unless you have your heart set on the '86-'91, also consider the '92-'95 wagons, as well as the Sable wagons in those first ten years, they are all pretty darned good, and very roomy.
aboard. Don't give up the search. The right one will come along.
Thanks for the encouragement! I like your Oldsmobile wagon by the way.
Well I want a generation 1 Taurus so 86-91 is a must. I've had my heart set on a 86 LX wagon. Funny thing is ther is an RV space that has never been used so I could have just parked it there.
