I'd done this on both my 96 Roadmaster and '92 Custom Cruiser. It's an EASY mod and makes the car sound like the Queen Mary is docking. I nabbed some horns for a friend with an OCC in Oregon, and he did did the mod too and is happy with it. Anyway just sharing. When it comes to horns, I always put in the triple not highway horns from the local parts store. AT 125 decibels each, noone can claim the don't hear me! Simple install, too. It may be a bit of overkill, but with the amount I'm on the highway, it makes a big difference.

I used to love those old 6V trumpet horns off 40's and 50's cars. Picked them up at the junk yards for a few dollars. Now I just roll down the window and yell "git outta the way ya stupid #@*&" !!!!!
I like waiting till unsuspecting people walk in front of my car! Or last summer they were having one of those off street deals in town and the youngsters were standing there pumping thier lil arms up and down at vehicles to blow the horn going by, I hit my horn and the one poor kid about jumped out of his skin! the other lil dude was laughing his azz off at his buddy for being so scared! It';s a riot!

I saw some train horns on Ebay (160Dcb's) and thought it would be great to blast that at the drag strip just when the lights turned green to distract the guy in the other lane. HA! But, then my sense of fair play gave me a good swift kick and I decided against it. Crud!
I haven't honked my horn on the road in years, people don't drive with them in these here parts . I can't believe the difference in other states, in New York the shortest amount of time that can be measured really is the time it takes the guy behind you to honk his horn just after the light turns green.
