Hi, Stuart here from SE Georgia, and I am the proud owner of a 2008 Suzuki Forenza Wagon that I purchased 29 January of this year. I got a good deal on it and traded my 1993 Ford Taurus Wagon I had had since 27 November 2001. I hated to do it, but it was one of those needed to's. I really like station wagons, and it does my heart good to see one on the highway, and to see there are others who like them as well. I think this style of body gets a bad wrap, and it's a shame. Like I said I have owned 2 wagons myself and 3 of the last 4 cars owned by my parents have been wagons (2 escorts and a Focus) but now they own an SUV [glorified station wagon]. My dream car is a '90 - '96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. I am glad I found this forum and am looking forward to meeting ya'll. Thanks.
Hello Stuart. Your Forenza is fairly similar to my Focus ZTW - in size, features (and color). Like you, I'm also looking forward to getting a RMW or something similar. Welcome to the SW Forums Marshall
I was just snooping on one sight and found 2 of your Roadie Estates 1992 and 1995: http://www.unclehenrys.com/Classifieds/Search/Results.aspx?SearchID=42596947&isHistoricSearch=N Good to have you aboard!
Both are what they call "World cars" whose foreign production was contracted by American auto makers and produced in various foreign countries within various continents, his being a re-badged Opel, likely equipped with a Suzuki engine. South Korea was only one production site of several. Discontinued Opels and Suzuki re-badged Opels and Chevrolets were assembled in Mexican, Hungarian and Indonesian plants. By now, maybe even in China? I happen to own one of the original Japanese-produced Suzukis whose re-badged siblings were assembled in Mexico and in Indonesia. Surprisingly, despite production numbers and worldwide representation, it's near impossible to find replacement parts cross reference information on these. Here's a 4-wheek drive version of mine located not that far from me. He's keeping it as a parts donor:
