Man, it's good to hear, see, you here again. And you can be sappy any day you want as far as I'm concerned.
But as for the parade and the float ride, it never happened:camera::camera::camera::camera:
Well, maybe it did, or will.

Xavier, you be just as sappy as you like! It is wonderful to see and hear. You keep on smiling and remember, you are never alone when you are surrounded by your wagon family. HUGS to both of you!

Thanks guys. :D I have tried to find pics but so far have had no good luck on it. After seeing our alderman we went up to Asia on Argyle in Uptown. Went to the store and came out just in time to see the beginning of the parade. It started with some martial arts demonstrations and the lighting of a very loud and deafening cords of firecrackers with dragons dancing around. Zoe was trying her hardest to get pictures. We have some but I can't upload them from here. The floats started going by and one of the guys helping with the parade comes up to us out of nowhere and asks us if we would like to be mon the float that was just about to depart. We were feeling so good with the news from earlier and that we got to be there to see the parade that we didn't even think about it and agreed. It's was so cool! And freakin cold with that lake affect wind blowin in. This is a smaller parade than further downtown so it doesn't get the publicity. There were lots if people taking pics so there's bound to be one sooner or later.

4:40 is where our float is, we are sitting at the very front, next to Miso and his son Caleb. you can see us perfectly for a couple of seconds. Note the bag of groceries next to us :)

Oh sorry, I was sitting on the bench seat and Zoe was sitting down on the floor in front of me right next to the US flag. It was an SUV that was I think a GMC. It was the last one. We are 4 minutes and 40 seconds into the video. The band was behind us.

That would be a good job for Xavier. Only have to work Wednesdays and Sundays. Maybe for a wedding now and then and an occasional confession.

It was cold and there was a strong breeze which made it colder. Both of our coats are black. Well Zoe's is more of a sun bleached black. My coat is anywhere from forty to seventy years old. It was made by a Danish company. I love it. Plus we only paid six bux for it at a used clothing store last September. Both of us had on winter hats so its hard to see our faces. Zoe was actually wearing tan pants but since it was laundry day I was wearing an old pair of cargos that have dried paint on them. It was SSI awesome to not only get to see the parade but to be plucked from the sidelines and asked to join in another culture's traditions. We had just gone up to get some groceries for dinner, came out and heard drums, and it all went from there. We were already jazzed from the news at the alderman's office and this just made everything so much better. This week had been especially hard because of the rental company. When we went in with the original lease holder to get the lease out into our name the guy freaked out on us and told us that we couldn't live there. They claimed that we are illegal tenants and that if we want to stay we gotta pay. They claimed they had no records of us living here. We have recieved mail from them and Zoe had been to their office several times in December when they lost our rent check. They knew we were here. Anyways they contacted Ronnie, the guy we subleased from, and told him that they knew he had illegal tenants living here and that if we didn't pay their fees we would be eveicted Monday the 18th. We found out that it is illegal to put someone out on the streets at least during February and if the temps are cold enough in march as well. We also learned that what the company is trying to do is charge twice on the same rental agreement. They also informed us that they could and were going to start showing our apartment to potential new tenants between 8AM and 5 PM Monday thru Friday without notice and that they did not have to give notice. We read some reviews about this company. I think the one where they barged in on a guy while he was in the shower says it best. It's funny really, scary and annoying, but funny. They know that we aren't from here and since Ronnie is Chinese they figure they can pull the wool over our eyes and scare us into doing something that is not legally required. We signed a legally binding and legitimate sublease that was provided by the city of Chicago, and the city of Chicago has tenants rights and laws that supercede and override any and all leases provided by rental companies and of landlords. We have the law on our side. Realty and Mortgage is trying to do something they shouldn't. Anyways, we are safe for now and the worst that it seems that could happen to us is we get a months notice to vacate an apartment that only has six weeks left anyways. We were told that if they show up to try to move us out to call the cops. We are in the legal and they're being bullies. Zoe has been volunteering at a church that gives out food and does free meals for homeless people. It's over near Ravenswood and Wilson. Super awesome people. Anyways Zoe talked to them and they are looking into helping us out. It is almost all volunteers and some times communications are slowed by everyone's schedules but still they are helping. If nothing else they might be able to help us find work. The week sucked but the weekend turned out to be amazing.
