Sure hope Freek is OK tonight. He seems to be able to handle anything thrown his way. I will say a prayer for him tonight before I go to sleep. David
10:44 PM "Passing through Independence, MO. I'm gonna keep going until I feel like stopping." EF's diligence and determination is going to get him to Tennessee. There's no doubt in my mind.
Good on ya, wix! Haven't heard anything for awhile. I'm a little worried about him, but then....snoot isn't on so we'll have to wait until he is back on for the update.
He sounds very upbeat and encouraged that his Metro is doing so well for him. I told him that the minute he starts feeling tired, get off the road and get himself a room and some sleep.
1:26AM I'm heading off to bed and texted EF to see where he's at. Here's his response: "About 115 miles W of St Louis. Getting gas and then looking for a rest stop." Let's hope he gets a good night's sleep so he'll be all fresh in the morning. Looks like he should be able to make it by Saturday night. Good night all. Rick, (EF), just called me! He says his GPS says he's got 520 miles left so he's well over half way. Says the Metro's running fine and eventhough he doesn't feel tired, he is going to pull off in the next rest area and call it a day. Good job EF and good job ol' Metro. I'll check back with him in the morning.
Hey guys, I have to head out to Long Island around 11 this morning and won't be at a computer until tonight around 7. Can anyone take EF's texts today and update the forum as I won't be able to. Let me know. Thanks.
Latest up date as of a minute ago. He got a few hours sleep last night and has now just pulled off for gas and breakfast in Puddach Ky. He's got 232 miles to go. Man, he's got this thing knocked. He's definitely on the home stretch!! You go, EF!!
He's making amazing time and the Metro has done little complaining. Freek must not need much sleep and the Metro seems ready to roll anytime too. I wish we could have filmed this trip!
Yup....I wish I would have shot this. It could/would have been a tribute to a man's dedication to his old truck and to the old truck itself. Things like this need to be documented. It won't be long before there are no people that love the good old reliables or any reliables to love. This is a part of my plan and this site.....to leave the wagon for posterity. On film, on the road and in the hands of people like our members..
