I found all the same stuff. Haha. It took me a little longer than 5 sec. but the forum is where I got the 72-87 front end thought. I definitely don’t want that. That last one at brothers is what I’m looking for but it says they only fit 3/4 ton.
Do you really use the 1-ton rating of the truck? Or is it, like all the mall-crawlers with their lifts, just for show? We won't judge you if it's the latter.
I haven’t used it at all really. It needs a bed and I’d like to utilize the pto on there. But as far as carrying large loads I doubt it. Unless y’all think I could put a car back there but I don’t think it’s long enough. I can’t imagine any heavy loads I might need it for. Maybe for bricks or gravel? My pickup is a wimpy Silverado with a 4.3 and I’ve maxed it out maybe twice? since I got it in 2007. So long story short.....
So unless the 3/4 and 1 ton brake setups are radically different, you may be able to install those 3/4 ton brakes and still be able to mount your wheels with no problems. I would still use a 1-ton master cylinder if you don't use a booster; otherwise, the M/C, booster and prop valve can all come from a 3/4 ton rig. Just adjust your rear brakes accordingly.
And he's driving on the road with cars that stop just like they did when they were built back in 2018. I think drum brakes are just grand, but I wouldn't pass up the chance to upgrade the brakes on anything if given the opportunity.
He lives in the country on a dead end lane and drives on 2-lane county roads at speeds under 45 MPH. I do agree on upgrading if priced right and needing a brake job.
I'll bet, you'd be more than satisfied having the bumpers with or without the Caddie and brakes . Nobody poaches the elephant or rhinocerus to make off with the entire animal, Sir
Grizz, I'm late to the party here, but having just done a ton of research for a disc brake conversion for my 69 F-100 I was constantly annoyed by the vast available disc brake kits for GM trucks and for way cheaper than the FoMoCo examples. Have you looked into LMC truck? You might be able to buy "factory" stuff directly from them that will bolt right up. Here's a kit for $899: https://www.classicparts.com/1963-7...version-Kit-Stock-8-lug/productinfo/71-978S8/
Given that a master cylinder isn't included in the kit, can one take for granted that the one used for drum brakes will also work for discs? Maybe, it's because you get a master cylinder with the Ford kits?: https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/ssb-a159-1/overview/year/1969/make/ford/model/f-100
Kit I got doesn't come with a master cylinder. Which is fine because I already have one. I ordered a proportioning valve from Jeggs, so I should be all set.
Here's what LMC truck offers. It would all be "factory" for your truck. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=147
. Thanks for the help man. I thought that was the jack pot so I emailed them. The guy said it’s for a c-20 and he wouldn’t recommend putting it on something heavier. Guess I’m s.o.l. I’ve made peace with the drum brakes. Ready to get this engine up to speed and put a bed on it
He may have said that, thinking you'll use the truck for its full capacity. But if you are just going to drive it without it doing work, you should call the guy back and ask him if that matters. If he says it wouldn't matter, then ask him what he would do to make that work.
