Is that really a 4x4? where do they put all of the running gear???

I cant help you about anything AMC but from what I can see for $1800 dollars and also being a desert car with little or no rust (although there may be something hiding under that 100 mph tape on the passenger side fender) and with all of the maintenance done on the car if documented, then you cant go wrong. I think that this is a lot of car for that sort of money.

They have IFS up front. The front differential is tucked up next to the engine. A hump was put in the floor to accept the transfer case.
Not mine. This is a jeep 4.0l engine with the Eagle front axle bolted to it.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to give me some info on these. These don't seem to sell real fast around here, so hopefully I have some time to mull it over.

One of the members over on Fullsizebronco bought one a couple months ago, and absolutely loves it; IIRC, he's regearing it, some engine mods, and may be giving it a lift? If I can find the link, I'll post it up here, and post this link up there.

There was one for sale here (Columbus Ohio) that I saw at a car show this summer. Older guy (80s) real car guy - had it for a long time. NICE HONEST ORIGINAL CAR! If you are interested I can look up his number. He was selling because they were moving to a condo.

Thanks, but I have decided to hold for the Cherokee. When my situation gets better I will revisit the Eagle. Right now, I think I would too unhappy with the motor and no way to do anything about it. Love the idea of this car tho, so I will be back.
