Those Lincoln 460s WILL get 20 mpg in a Mustang, does anyone think they are going back into the sleds they came from?. But try explaining this to some self absorbed nit wit congressman.

Hybrids, especially the 5000# suv variants are for fools. (want high mpg? Leave your living room and e-toys at home or better yet ride a hybrid bus)
Do any of these self righteous clowns consider the energy and pollution that manufacturing and later DISPOSING of these things takes? Perhaps all the heavy metals from so called "green" cars should be recycled into toys for the next generation??

Japanese turn over their cars because of oppressive taxation on older cars. To encourage sales of new, Japanese cars. Older ones are exported whole to Canada and Australia and parts to the U.S.
A complete Japan spec. car doesn't meet U.S. crash or emission standards. Do you think the pinhead that wrote the above knew that part?
    Greenies, I hate 'em.

I choose to keep my '86 Buick Electra Estate Wagon and trade in the '02 Saturn SL1. I figure if I keep driving and repairing it, then one day it'll be restored. Cash for clunkers isn't getting my classic! From what I can tell, most new car sticker prices are at least $4500 over priced. A keeper is cheaper. Besides that, people are most likely going to keep reproducing, and you can't very well haul a new family around comfortably in an economy car.

Disposable cars? hmmm. That's fine if it has a toiletpaper price. Does it melt on the last day? Or can you flush twice to send it back to the country that made it?

Trample Freedoms? The guy must've fallen in love with his captor, Stalin or Mao come to mind.

Pack 130 million on an island about half the size of Mexico, and their needs are a whole lot different. They build North American cars in... Oh! North America. If the authour had 2 clues, he'd be dangerous. :coco:

The nation of Japan also comes with a beehive mentality. That's what makes it "the model country" now.The same mentality that brought us Pearl Harbor and WW2 in the Pacific is now harnessed into the philosophy of "business is war"...It's also the mentality that the globalists want the rest of us to have.No individuality,no tribal connections,no different thinking...A global beehive of humans...I don't think it's by accident that the new Honda hybrid looks just like the Toyota Prius...Cars aren't supposed to be about individual expression anymore...The beehive won't work right if we keep driving around in our green hornets and yellowjackets...

:1st:Now,"they" are worried that, just as soon as the program ends on Monday, the car market will falter and "we'll" be back to square one...The LA Times also ran an article "Clunker today, classic tomorrow".The reporter related how he was at an auction in Monterey California(famous for the Pebble Beach Concourse)and a 71 Chevy Monte Carlo fetched an "amazing" $60,500!..He described the 71 Monte Carlo(in general)as "one of the most wretched and routine hunks of Detroit iron ever freighted down an assembly line". He found it preposterous and befuddling that a car he consider a horrendous piece of crap could end up considered a cherished classic, worth so much...He had nightmares,he said,of going to an auction and one of the cars up for bid was an 89 Geo Metro! He made a list of cars he thinks should be okay to become classics in the future. ; 2000 Pontiac Aztek, comes with that Edsel cache and was actually quite usefull. 1993 Cadillac STS. 1994 MBZ S320. 1989 Taurus SHO,NOT the typical sleepytime Ford of the era,he says. AND! The mid-90's Buick Roadmasters!!! :1st: He did not mention the wagons, but raved about interiour legroom, plenty of zoom and an abundance of luxury options...He did, however, mention that his dad thought it howlingly amusing that anyone would consider his 1939 Ford DeLuxe stationwagon a classic. :49: So much for dad's intelligence level and being an actual car guy. :jumping:
