Basically all cooling systems depend on the radiator. A better flowing rad on an average HP car should always be a good thing.
What I deal with every day is the guy who calls and tells me he just put a blown big block in his car. 1st question is what size radiator you have in the car. He says the one that came in the car. So I ask what was the original motor, he says it was a 6 cylinder. I ask what HP did that motor make. He says about 150. I ask what HP you making now.......he says about 800. So you are trying to cool a 800HP motor with a 150HP radiator?Do you see where I'm going here? He says ,so I have to put a bigger radiator in?..........well DUH!!! Then I usually get........but I don't have the room for a bigger radiator........then I say well you have 2 choices......either figure out how to put the bigger one in or deal with it alwas running hot.
The first thing one can do when you start a build is to know how much power you plan to make and start to figure out how you going to cool it, then go from there.
