Haha. My wife has red hair and her Dodge is pretty close to the Bundy Dodge.

It'll only work if you become a shoe salesman.

What makes you so sure he isn't one, Sir?

There aren't many of those left. Actually just a lucky guess. I'm also guessing he's married with children. That family truckster will be empty without them when driving to DizzyWorld.

It depends on the shoes, Sir.

They ain't really that way. It was just a gimick to get into the record charts. It blew up in their faces, because they were way too outrageous for their time. Nowadays, they'd only get a yawn. They were into shooting up and only 2 original band members are left living. "Punk" Rockers and Hair Metal bands got famous, by riding their running boards, so to speak, Sir.

BTW, is this Family Truckster gonna have the 'garbage bag' airbag?

I was hoping for a body bag, instead:

I made some progress. The rear windows have taken shape. It was actually much easier to do the metal work than it was to figure the correct dimensions of the windows.

There are 2 ways to do the windows. The first involves welding in roof sections from a doner car to fill the giant window hole and having new glass cut. That is the best way. I just don't know that my skills are up to that challenge. I went for option 2, going over the glass. It's quicker, easier and that is how the original Truckster's were built. As long as I can keep water out, and never break a window it's not a bad way to go.

The first step was making the trim. I got the dimensions by overlaying screen shots of the real truckster over an image of my car.
I hung the trim on the car with the factory clips after cleaning the glass with brake cleaner and alcohol to remove any grease. I then butted some 1/4"x1"x 4' aluminum flat bar up to the trim. That is the filler between the glass and filler panel. It took 3 strips total. I glued it to the glass and body with 3M Panel Bond, that is good stuff. The aluminum isn't cheap but I felt was a must over other materials. It won't rust and is firm enough for support but can be bent as needed to conform perfectly to the shape of the glass. The verticle piece has both a curve and a twist. It was a little bit of a pain to get it right.
I drilled 3 holes on each side just under the glass to allow water to drain into the quarters should it get behind the panel. One in the front, rear and center. I also painted the metal around the glass thoroughly and the backside of the filler panels to protect them from rust. The filler panels are cut from 18 gauge sheet metal. Before I hung the filler panels I sealed the edges of the aluminum with black silicone both above and below the strip.
After that I ran a bead of panel bond along the aluminum strips and secured the filler panels. Once that dried I welded the edges to the body, ground it smooth and wiped the area with fiberglass reinforced body filler.
This car will be garage kept when done but we had some pretty severe storms come through last night and not one drop of rain made it behind the filler panels so I am very happy. The next step is to blend them into the body when I do some actual body work.

Seems easier to do it than write or talk about it! Looks nice.
I like fibreglass. The smell keeps my wife out of the garage.

Likely, it's the fumes which keeps him in there?
