OK, so I bought a 1993 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon, and as usual with a used car it has some issues, but nothing major. The window motor, right front seems to be out-dosen't work from either drivers or passengers switch. Fuse is good as other accessories on same circuit all work.
Having never replaced a window motor, my question is can the motor be replaced without removing the regulator. Repair manuals dont go into specifics, just general views. It seems that taking the regulator out is a pain, having to remove the window. Just need to replace the motor (no noise at all from motor when either switch is used).
    Any input would be helpful.

Well, found the problem-motor is fine-switch on passenger door was disconnected. Apparently window regulator dosen't work properly. Window goes down ok, but when putting window up, window comes up at an angle. Either window is off track, or front part of regulator is sticking or busted.

Only partially. Window goes down ok, but when tryin to go up, the rear of the window comes up but the front angles down, causing the window to come up at a angle. Have to hold/support the front so the window will come up level. Haven't had the door panels off, but doing some research on google. I think one of the pivot points on the regulator is detached. I just have to take some time this weekend to pull it apart.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

ok,,first of all pull off the door panel and visually inspect,,,,99 percent of the issues can be resolved by lubricating all the working mechanism,s,,,,,that is of course you dont have anything loose or broken,,,,,but i,m gonna bet that is most of it,,,, and make sure the window tracks or guides are,nt loose and causing the window to track crooked up and down,,,,,,i was gonna post a picture but i personally like to use white lithium grease in a spray can and for tight hard to get to spots i have two of the little spray tubes ,,,you know the ones that come with the can right ?? take two of them and get a piece of shrink tube and put them together and you can get in an lube anywhere in the door,,,,,,i hope this helps :yippee:
