Well...I like a lot more than that. Will they take a BB? Thanks a lot Norm. Much appreciated. I DID notice that the Zepher I posted has a flat hood. So ALL the Fairmonts have the raised center? I like that. The Zepher is well loaded for a small wagon...I presume the Fairmonts can come that way to?

Car audio upgrade, maybe my own dash layout and house renos this year.

This motor is hiding some power. Andy noticed it right away, and I've seen it too. Not a screamer, but it holds its own. The Ford dealership did the rebuild and they did real good.

I have another 302 HO that sounds like it would work real nice in there. :yup:

The problem with Mustang sites is that very few consider the Fox cars except for parts buckets.

You can take a 1979 to 1986 Mustang new aftermarket floorpan, add 4 inches and replace the Fairmont/Zephyr floor on all models. They don't like to share info. And, in a lot of issues, they don't know the F/Z cars enough to be helpful.

Well...I knew I was asking the right guy! How about loaded up....any come with split or buckets? Any common, bad rust areas to look for?

OH...and what tranny is in those wagons? Will they take a 302 HO built? Or do I have to mess with a 9 inch and a C6?

I think the Mercury Marquis and Cougars came with all the normal toys.

I grabbed the pics of the interior when that same car (1983 Merc Marquis) was up for sale:

My new 1981 Futura wagon had PW, AM/FM Cassette with the Amplifier, AC, Tilt, roofrack, PL and nice fabric bench seat with armrest and cupholder.

Probably just over 3,300 lbs. Actually, I think its an '83. It was super low miles and was being sold by a dealer for a good customer. Stefan might recall. They are really classy. The Mercury versions (Zephyr, Villager, Cougar and Marquis) got more undercoating and soundproofing.

So...it's a Mercury Marquis...small like the Fairmont. Not the Grand Marquis. Let me get this straight so I know what to look for....
    Loaded, higher end Fairmonts....
Mercury Marquis and Mercury Cougar? (like I'm gonna find a Cougar loaded wagon!)
