I Photo was taken late-1940s/early 1950s somewhere in Clermont County, Ohio. Crane was a WW2 surplus purchase by the County Engineer and remained in use into the 1980s. The three men in wool coats, surveying the damage, were the county commissioners. Mixer truck chassis is a WHITE W-Series and in the physical photo you can faintly identify the mixer body as a “REX” brand.
Here a Great Northern dump truck gets sucked into the mud on the shoulder of a road near Seboomook Dam in 1973. Another casualty of mud season. A Maine Forest Service ranger can be seen on the far right of the photo stopping to lend assistance. Thanks to Joel Cyr for this photo.
