FYI-the carpet I got off Ebay wasn't a "perfect" fit but will be OK for my driver quality resto. What I don't understand is the material they use for the base is white so if there is a spot showing thru the loop it shows. They should have used a dark material. If I had waited until now to install it, I could have taken advantage of some extreme heat to help soften it up.

I think taking if off was easier. If I don't get those little stainless buttons started just right they won't snap on.

    Man that looks good!

So, my next question is what part of the state do you live in?

The center of the known universe, my friend, Puyallup. I was just over you way last week, I have a sister in Richland.

Ah yes, Puyallup. Great place. Also one of the many towns in our state where you have to be from here to know how to pronounce it properly. Next time you pass through, be sure to honk and wave. :tiphat:

Nice try Krash. It's pronounced Pew-Al-up.
It seems most of the places around here kept the names the natives had given them, or were named after a local tribe. It can make for interesting discussion when giving directions to someone from out of state. We receive regular shipments from California, and a lot of times the truck driver will be headed to another place in the state either to drop the rest of their load or pick up a back haul. They read the town's name on their GPS and then say something like "Next I'm headed to some place called.... Pa-lay-la-pup?"

My father-in-law was infatuated with the hops grown over on your side. He thought Yakima was pronounced ya-Kee-ma. Driver's side is done. I think I can get the passenger side done today. No major complications. The new trim caps and the old don't mix. If the screw in base is an old stock, you better have the old stock cap to go on it. Even. the new re-pops need a little buffing. I made a tool to help with the install. I'll take a picture of that too.

OK, the sun and camera make this look pretty yellow, it's not. It still needs handles, 53 15" hubcaps, and door panels. I didn't want a dark two tone look. IMG_0642.JPG IMG_0641.JPG IMG_0640.JPG IMG_0642.JPG

Yellow or not, it's looking real good. Excellent work!

Well, he certainly had excellent taste and recognized a good things when he saw it (or tasted it ;) )

Yeah, we get that a lot.
