Well I parked it planing on doing the restore the right way instead of trying to do it while I drove it everyday Problem is since I have parked it I havent done one thing to it. It has just been sitting at my buddies place waiting for me. Well I started getting the itch again, it started when I found some bucket seats on craigs for sale. Ive been wanting buckets for a while They are out of a Saturn, not sure what year or model just know it was a saturn Here are some pics Old front seat No seats at all New Buckets Driver seat installed w/ my seat tester Both seats with my tester again I know they are not period correct but they feel great. Not sloppy like the bench seat. I like having the bolstered edges on top and bottom. What do you guys think? Later Bernie
As you can see in my sig I also bought another wagon, this one is a 1964 Bel Air Wagon. I bought it mainly for the sheet metal. 3 of the 4 doors are in great condition and the 4th just has a half dollar size rust spot that can easily be fixed. I will be using the entire door not just the outer skin. The qtr panels are in real good condition also, just some minor dents but no rust so thats a bonus. Also needed the center hump above the transmission. Mine was hacked up from who ever put the 4spd in it and since I have put it back to an auto back on the tree now I need to fill the hole left with something other than dynamatt. The only part of the floor that is good in the donor wagon is the hump, the rest of the floor is gone pretty much. It has some good glass and some odds and ends that I will prob sell to get some of my money back. I was hoping the hood was good but I think its to rusty underneath to salvage but not sure yet Heres a couple of pics I didnt exactly save this wagon since its not getting restored but it is saving a wagon that is getting restored. Not to mention its saving me a ton of money and fab work I have had the donor car for less than a week and I did start on my wagon yesterday I removed the hack job of a qtr replacement from the other owner. They pop riveted a rusty qtr on but never got around to doing it right Removed qtr panel Here they are together I will try to keep this post as my update progress page It wont be quick but I will post as it goes on Thanks for looking and reading Bernie
Yeah, the seats of old were fine for swooning, but today's high stress traffic demands better butt control.
