Wow. Nice project. We never get to see projects from down under. Can you send me two of those inline 6s please? Wouldn't that be a nice power plant for my Cougar!

I like the fender flares but the front ones look a little chopped off at the doors. I think it would look marvalous if those carried on to the door but they would probably interfere with the door clearing the fender. Do you Aussies call the fenders "wings" like the Brits do?

    I'm loving that car.

Don't get too excited. The Falcon sixes sound awful, no matter how powerful. All you get is a whooshing noise like an industrial vacuum cleaner.
    V8's are much better.

Has to better than an 85 HP 3.3L inline six. I can stand some 200 HP whooshing! :biglaugh:

One of the few disappointments with my Fairmont wagon was the 302 V8. No guts. This Six has more spunk in the city. With a turbo six for highway speeds and torque, I'd be cruising the Rockies a few times a year with a trailer on the back!

The 302 was strong. It could haul that trailer without a sweat from Mexico to here, but no acceleration worth beans. I don't know where it was supposed to hit its peak torque, but it sure wasn't at the lower speeds and up to 65 MPH. After that it still acted like a wimp. Almost as bad as the 1981 Fairmont 255 V8.

:mischeif: On of these days I'll get around to putting some guts into that old 302 block of yours.

The inline 6 can be made to sound good. This motor in my last car was regularly confussed with a v8 due to the really deep note it produced.

The base 4.0L motors can be had from $100 australian and if you know people the performance tickford motors like I have cab be had for a few hundered. If I had a spare $2000 I can just about double the power of this motor which compared to a v8 will win on the cost per horse power stakes.

Here are just a couple of Factory GT falcons. The first is an EB GT and this is the model of car I got my flares from

These next couple are of an EL GT which was nicknamed 'darthvader' This is the type of car my side skirts were on

Both of the above cars were special editions with only 400 of the second one made. I would love to get the body kit off the EL GT but unless you spend $20000+ I can only get fibreglass copies of the rear bumper bar, bonnet scoop and boot spoiler

Definitely drooling material. Too bad the motors won't fit in a suitcase...;)

Well if you completely disassemble it then most of the stuff will fit. Might have to leave the intake maifold and the block. Also if you were crazy enough there are a couple of shops that have been playing with the cam shafts on these motors and they do have some specs for cams that allow this motor to produce so much torque that they say that you would need a C4, C6 or power glide transmission and a ford 9 inch diff so the driveline would be reliable and thats just in N/A form.

There's no doubt that I'm crazy enough! :rofl2:

Nice to hear that the C4 automatic is considered a tough tranny in Australia. My wagon is from Mexico. The rearend is a Dana 44, but the US/CDN models use a Ford rearend. Even my gear ratio is different, but its not a 9-incher.

Were there many Inline 6 turbo Fords?

I really like that EB GT. It's too bad Ford thought they couldn't sell them here. We got a version of the Mondeo for a few years but it didn't sell well. Maybe soon since Ford is going to sell "global" cars here in the US. We still don't have a lot of diesels but we just got the Fiesta which gives 40 mpg.

I'll just have to stick with the old paid for stuff.:tiphat:

Up Until 2003 there had only been a few special edition turbo 6's. 2003 when ford released a new model they added a turbo 6 to the facon line up. They also started a performance brach called Ford Performance Vehicles or FPV for short. They had the turbo 6 as well just a hotted up version. Currently you can get a falcon xr6 turbo, a falcon g6e, a terrioty turbo which all have 360hp. the xr6 is the sports model, the g6e is a luxuray model like and M5 bmw and the territory is basically a falcon wagon that has been lifted and semi off road tires fitted.

If that isnt enough you can get a falcon from FPV called the f6 typhoon. this is a weapon that not even holden using motor from the corvette cab beat. They leave the factory with just over 415hp which is what is claimed but they usually have more. The factory underrates them so that they dont detract from the FPV GT falcon which is a V8 with 422hp.

Now for even more money there is a company called Nizpro who are in the process of getting the the f6 typhoon ready for sale in Europe. they will have italian leather interior, stronger gearbox and diff, re tuned suspension, huge brembo brakes and much more. The will have a 3 year warranty and price around $100 000 reportedly.

The plan is to show people that if you want a fast 4 door family car a BMW M5 with its 500hp and huge price tag arent the only option especially when these nizpro f6's will have over 600hp and nizpro have a work ute that is street registerd with approx 1350hp using the same motor as the f6
