I can't say I remember the Skoda wagon, but I remember seeing the Skoda sedan at one of the Toronto Auto Shows in the 1980s, and marveling at the rear engine design. The engine seemed to be right under the rear window package shelf. I don't think the Skoda lasted too long in the Canadian market.
This one we've got for sale here looks like it's traditional front engine, front wheel drive. Kinda cool-looking. Has a sort of 'Renault' vibe to it...... Pretty contemporary looking for the mid 90's The little 1.3 liter 4-cylinder should get pretty good gas mileage. Be the the only one in your state with a Skoda wagon!
Just for fun, I used AutoTempest.com to search the U.S. and Mexico for another Skoda. Couldn't find a single one. None in Canada on AutoTrader.ca or Kijiji either. Of course, January isn't a great time to be selling a collector car.
What a Drab Looking Example, I remember them being much more colorful when I was in Europe in the 1990's.
