Hell no, it's at $475 now or it will be scraped this Friday.

Seller has never answered my Email about the car, nor answered questions about the car that were posted in this thread. Kinda hard to sell anything if you don't respond to questions. I have to wonder what else is wrong with the car but due to lack of contact I'm not interested any more, good luck with the sale.

    Hi, all:

Sorry for repeated bad manners. Client matters have consumed all else and I've not had a chance to come up for air. Back last night and off again tomorrow. Just a very busy period.

Thank you all for your input and ideas. All excellent, as usual. I read them all last night and there are some very helpful ideas there. Would you understand if I said that I read them and they helped me reach the decision that they are avenues for the next owner to explore? I love this car, but it's time to let it go; and by purchasing the Roadmaster, I have gone down that road.

Where I live, regrettably, there is just not any market for these cars, as one of you pointed out.

Interestingly, since the ad was posted, four folks have asked to come and see the car. Once I asked them what time would be convenient, they were not heard from again. One fellow offered $100, offering to sell parts and, if I understood his note correctly, offering to share the proceeds, although acknowledging that such sales would be difficult. All part of the deal, I guess.

A couple of people on the list talked about the condition of the car, and one said more pictures are required -- I think it was Fat Tedy. He's right, of course, and to be fair to everyone and their considerations, while the interior is in great shape, it is not a no-rust vehicle. It's there -- those lower trim pieces cover all manner of sins.

I"m a real believer in letting people make their own decisions, but I would feel quite disappointed if I made complicated plans to go and see a car, and arrived to find this one. Yes, it does look quite nice still, inside, but easy oil-burning-great- clouds-of-blue-smoke fix or not, it's a car with 250,000 miles/397,000 kms on it, and time, and use, have taken their toll.

This morning one gentleman from the neighbourhood contacted me through plain old word of mouth, wondering if this car might be appropriate for his teenagers. I couldn't possibly say 'Yes." Because I don't think it is. I'd worry.

So, as noted, I've dropped the price to $475. I've set myself a deadline to resolve this. If it sells, great. If it doesn't, then the market has spoken, and I'll abide by that statement.

As for the 1991 Roadmaster Estate, I actually got a chance to drive it on the weekend, albeit briefly. Purchased for $1900 two weeks ago, I've since put about $3000 into it. I'm hoping that it keeps me in wood-grain applique for another ten years. It's quite a lovely car in excellent condition. A real and rare find, at least in these parts.

Again, thank you all for your ideas and suggestions, and my apologies again for a very busy and uneven schedule of late that has made me less than consistent in my participation in the discussion. I will do better in the future.

    Adam

    Thanks for the follow up.
I see you have a Jensen Interceptor, rather I don't see. Care to post some pictures of a neat car not many are familiar with?

    :slap::slap::slap:............

Well Hell based on the "discription at the time" I could have come up with that kind of $$$

Soooooooo, I asked some questions as listed below......

    STILL NO REPLY!

You must be in politics or sales, nobody can get a straight answer and by the time your done typing, nobody can even remember the origonal question.

I can totally understand being busy, but I made contact with you and you never replied and when you replied in this post it never had anything to do with the wagon everyone was drooling about. And you mention potential buys not returning emails....HOG WASH, I did, never heard from you!!

Good luck with the sale, I won't say no one will, but it's going to be hard selling a 80's wagon on this rock with rust, with a motor that needs magor help for what your asking. hope you enjoy your new wagon...I, on behalf of another member spoke to the owner of your new to you Rodie a short time back...you did get a deal from a very nice straight up seller.

You only get from the car hobby what you return, you mention priase about ebay and parts you personaly were able to get because of people.....yet your just going to scrap it because it's a fast $:naughty:....Carma

Saw a Jensen Interceptor just the other day. Noticed it while I was going 70mph on the freeway. It was going the same in the opposite direction - unmistakable profile......

    Yup, I sure do.

Sorry if I offended but there were and still are to many unanswered questions....and I saw alot of members getting all warm and fuzzy inside. I called it the way I saw it ( there was no real discription or pics), now we know about rust, now we know the smoke is blue and that tells alot. Fact to me is I live 30-40 minutes away, offered to look at the car for anyone in hopes of saving it and even attempted/offered purchace with no reply ever......Yeah, I am a @zz Ole, for looking out for members who mite have made the trip. I can live with that carma;)

    Teddy,you grizzled old codger,
I don't see anything fishy about the guy or the car. It's not a high priority for him.
Go hand the man $300, poke through the sludge in the heads and enjoy a while then let us wagon geeks try to outbid one another when you are through.
If I were nearby I'd be all over it, like a bum on a bologna sandwich.

    Hi all:

Well, I'll apologize again for causing upset. Fat Ted, I did receive an email from you and if you've sent another, asking to come by and see the car, I'm pretty sure I would have said yes, as that would have been the point, and very much appreciated.

The only note I can find from you is this one. What I saw was a nice note expressing the same thought that got me started on the list -- it's a nice car, I'd like to save it, but a host of circumstances make that impossible. I read it and agreed with the sentiment, and went about my business.

"I'd love to save your wagon, I have a 83 Cutlass Criuser and a 87 Buick Lasbre (both wagons). I can't even make you an offer rite now so I'm not here to waist your time :) I'm not working and am having surgary next month so $$ is tite. If you still have the car in the next month please consider me if...it's getting in the way, need it gone, eyc, etc, before anything drastic happens to it.

    Regards
    Ted"

Again, a nice note, and I very much appreciate the sentiments. More important to me, Ted, is that you look after your health, and that your financial situation changes. I think, if you'll allow me, that in comparison, the car of a stranger is less important than both.

Perhaps a final apology from me will allow the list to move on. I certainly meant no disrespect or harm to anyone, and I apologize for all errors that have caused upset.

    Adam
