    how did that work, was there a peg of sorts that would stop it at 85? then that was removed to let it keep going, with new sticker added?

    I never owned one, but I think the only peg was to stop the needle at Zero MPH. Not sure if they did any mod other than ad the sticker. I know my old Mustang SVO's Speedo had numbers that stopped at 85mph, but hash marks that continued up to 120 or so. I will see if I can find a picture of that type.

    Here is the way Ford got around the 85 mph speedo regulation

    If it wasn't that lanky Texan doing the mods, I wouldn't drive one beyond 75, let alone 95 or 135.
