The X in the VIN numbers says it is a Buick 350 Powered car. Interior pictures would be a plus, plus options ect.... But if the info listed is true, it should be worth at least the asking price.

Where did the engine pics come from?

The windshield wipers look like 14k miles. Those argent wiper blade covers are hard to come by now.

Eh, 301. At least it has cruise control!

Manual everything else is kind of a bummer, pretty much takes the wind out of the sails for me.

Engine compartment has a pretty decent amount of wear for 14k miles, but a lot of that could be from sitting outside and getting moisture on everything as the finish on the engine compartments of these cars wasn't exactly stellar back then.

The under hood pictures show lots of rust. Can't imagine what the floors look like. Must have been sitting on a dirt floor. Also what's up with the steering wheel cover? 15K?

The very ugly oil sludge seeping steering wheel I would guess, easier to cover it up than to clean it up. It does have a 301 Pontiac in it. I do not remember seeing that exterior color on a woodie wagon before. Don't know if I like it or not.

Some Simple Green and nail polish remover will clean that right up. Easy and showcases extreme laziness on the seller's part.

That's not nice. I would never do such a thing!:bouncy::rofl2:
That's about the whitest blue I've ever seen. Nice looking wagon from the photos.

Bidding ended at $3050 reserve not met on eBay.

Wonder why bidding so weak? Low 0ptions? 301 V8?

$3000 for this car is a very good price. He sh0uld have taken it. Low options hurts it. While options we take for granted today were still considered luxuries back then, and I can see how the car might not have power windows, locks, etc, any kind of a long-distance family hauler, as this car certainly is, should have something like cruise control. It was not expensive, and if you're springing for anything other than a Chevy, cruise control should have been included.

Also, this car is mid-identified. It is clearly the full-size Pontiac wagon for 1978, and "LeMans" is the name for the mid-size wagons. This is not a "LeMans Grand Safari." It is a Catalina or Bonneville Grand Safari.

This is what a '78 LeMans Safari looks like, from the '78 Pontiac brochure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the above looks nothing like the front end of the car in question.

His original craigslist ad did not use the word "LeMans." He called it simply "Safari wagon," which is correct. I wonder why he proceeded to mis-identify it when he listed it on ebay.
Perhaps he would get more bids if he actually knew what he was selling.

Yes, it is clearly a Grand Safari wagon and not a LeMans. That's on the seller!
