Thanks. I'll report back on the particulars once I take delivery.

    Got it.

Picked up the Grand Safari this weekend. Drove it from Milwaukee to Madison, AL (700+ miles) no problem (other than LOTS of thunderstorms along the way). Looks as good in person as the pics. The green is gorgeous and not a color I've seen before on these cars. The interior is like new and everything works (AC, cruise, etc.). Nice car and a good seller. He has several 91-96 Buick wagons and an '84(?) Parrisiene wagon as well (no wood, nice dark blue color). I think he plans to sell one or more of those as well.

Long-term update for those that might be interested...the '77 Grand Safari continues to please. I've made several repairs (most preventive maintenance) including new front brakes, fuel pump, distributor, front springs/shocks, rebuilt Dualjet carb, new Cloyles timing set, water pump, etc. This car runs and drives super-smooth and the 301 V8 has better power than I anticipated (no match for the 400 in my '78 T/A but much better than expected). As this is my son's car now I think I'm going to be on the lookout for one of these for myself (that or a 73-77 Lemans Safari).

Great - thanks for the update. Glad to hear the 301 is better than expected. I think that is an especially sharp wagon.

Any luck on another 1970s Pontiac wagon for yourself? ;)

Not yet. It's hard to find one as clean as the one I bought for my son...and with A/C, etc.

Another great one. Apparently expired now. Listed at just $2500.

I kinda like this one........good deal at that price.

I'm hoping for one with a true Pontiac engine (even if it's the lowly 301); easier to upgrade if needed.

It really isn't that much easier to convert a 301 Pontiac Powered car to a 350 or 400 than a Buick or Olds Engined car. I have done a couple in the past. With the exeption of the engine frame mounts all the same parts need to be changed. All the accessory brackets, A/C, Pwr Steering, Altinator, the exhaust manifolds, down pipes, throttle cable and bracke, and radiator.

If the plan is to put a bigger Pontiac engine into it. I would not pass up a good Low Mileage Buick or Olds engine car. Chevy powered cars are more work to convert though.

Thanks cammerjeff I'm sure that's true. However, the 400 in my '78 Trans Am looks to share several items with the 301 in the Wagon (valve covers, timing cover, water pump, distributor alternator bracket, etc.) and I have a lot of Pontiac parts laying around.
