Price lowered again. Now $14,000. But check out his new comment about what he will take in trade. Talk about having nerve. What? You're going to give me a car worth $14,000, but you want me to give you a car worth more than that? How much more? $5? $5000? Good luck with that. A car is worth what it's worth. He started out asking $18,000, then lowered it to $16,000, and now it's $14,000. So it is, at the moment, a $14,000 car. That's what you'll get from me if I decide to offer a trade. But I'll probably just tell you to go to h*!!. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/d/eudora-1977-oldsmobile-toronado/7592904761.html
I have a couple of questions. First who’s going to give him a trade worth more than his car? Secondly does he determine what the worth of my vehicle is. It’s it’s worth a lot more, so I get cash on top? He does have a streak of nerve.
Trades are rarely ever a good way to go, only if they have a specific model of car you are looking for in exchange for yours. Any time someone wants to trade me a car it's always usually a crap box like a 2000 Ford Excursion with v10 gas engine or a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. All cars that have some inherent value (kind of) but are for the most part not anything I care about nor want in exchange for a classic car or vintage station wagon. Or the guys who show you a picture of their Harley and ask if you want to trade when I have zero desire for a bike nor any idea what they're worth. "You have to give me more than mine is worth" sounds like the perfect way to ensure no one wants to trade or deal with you.
I agree elB. I will say that I have been involved in one trade that I think worked out very well in our favor. But that's one out of dozens of deals. And what I would consider a "once in a lifetime" sort of thing.
