    Not basic enough. I can do without power windows in one. But, in this case; I would rather have a thrifty manual transmission. Is this the improved second generation 4-banger? I see a red valve cover and understand that the aluminum slant headed versions were quite troublesome

    I believe that is the 1st year of production in the US, so if they improved the engine later this would not have it.

    The only other option I see in the car is the AM/FM Radio, Not even a passenger side rear view mirror.

    Yes, 1976 was the first model year of the Chevette.
