1976 Chevrolet Caprice Estate

Sorry bud it MIGHT be sporting the original pant underneath what we see here in your pics, really cannot believe no one caught the bottom of the pass side 1/4 panel. Common repaint mistake, it should be black. To many cocktails? That would be why I asked why at 30,000 org mi it had been repainted.

Finally got me a clamshell!

Hey everyone, its been a busy week but I finally have had a chance to put this up. I've finally got me a clamshell. jwdtenn brought this beautiful loaded 76 Caprice to my attention a couple of weeks ago, and after a false start and a lot of pictures and trading information with the seller markey, we came to an agreement. The funds have cleared so I can now tell everyone. I am stoked! Many thanks to markey and jwdtenn for all your help.

There is a small amount of rust that will need attention either before I pick it up or at my end once I get it back home so markey has been kind enough to take it too a reputable shop for a couple of quotes and I will be weighing up the difference between doing the repairs there or after getting it back here. One thing in my favor by doing it there is I will need a little time to organize my trip, so this time may be better spent having the car repaired but it will also be ready for registration once it arrives in Australia so I will be able to drive it here almost immediately as well.

So once I have worked through the repair issue, I will plan a trip over to the States (perhaps early next year) and I intend to drive her back from Tampa Bay to L.A. and once I know when I am coming over, I will begin to seek advice from members about the best route to take and what to see and what to avoid along the way, and maybe some of us can catch up as we pass through, but more about that later.

I have a few more pictures but most have already been put up already. I think I might need to start another thread in general station wagon discussions though.
