1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate

Apparently I've been selling mine to cheap. Time to raise my prices

 

I am 99.9% this is the same Caprice Estate that I was a day away from purchasing for $2500.00 a few months ago. I was ready to send the $ and was told it was sold.

 

Bidding stalled at $8200 with five and a half days left.

 

Auction ended today at $8600 - reserve not met. That's probably the upper end of what it is really worth.

 

Still there and the then $20k price is apparently too much.

Given what (did not) happen on eBay, dealership might want to dial down that $20k asking price.

 

Here we are another month later, and this dealer still has not budged. Slow learner.

Agreed. The final price reached on the prior auction would be a reasonable price for this car. But the seller is a dealer...

Not being too familiar with the GM clamshells... I did not realize they came not "powered". How do you use it manually!? Do you "push" the tailgate down some way and the glass goes up!? And is there a "handle" to grab to pull it back up?

 

Rear window is always power. Tailgate can be either. If it is manual, the window has to be up a little so you can pull the door up to latch it.

 

If I recall correctly, the manual gates were counter-balanced somehow; lifting and dropping the gate was not as heavy to operate as it might sound.
