Fortunately there wasn’t much of that. The Dinoc had some mars and scuffs. No big deal used liquid finish on it with fiber cloth and it came up beautifully. May re-wrap the railing at some point if my ocd gets the best of me. Lol. But very pleased with it.

Sweet - those two 72s look really good together. Be a nice side by side at the car shows.

Hey Country Sedan. I took your advice. Found a great exhaust guy that was able to add the additional muffler, as well as hang the extra exhaust without any under hang. Haven’t driven it much since but it seems like a nice difference. I’m really liking this car. FEBC24D5-F1FA-4965-8657-52AE6C5F615E.jpeg

I love dual exhaust. I'd love to hear it. I bet it sounds sweet!
By the way, that wood grain looks flawless!

Thanks. Yeah it’s a 42,000 mile car. I was really impressed with the condition. It has a few little things, but I was in a lot worse shape at 50, than this car.

Haha well, that's one way to compare it I guess.

Right? I know my ‘60 Colony Park is in far better shape than me today. Lol. The older I get the more I am really discerning in the cars I look at to potentially purchase. I really love low mileage originals. I have bought cars that have been redone, but I look close to insure mechanical, interior and paint is as close to factory as possible. It’s gotten really expensive to fix other folks happy hands projects.

Yeah, that's how our 59 Fairlane was. Looked pretty good, just needed some TLC.
Turned out it was hiding some major issues which turned into a full blown restoration.

Good job. My first car, a 73 Country Sedan (hence my screen name) I got from my father, who bought it new. It too had the 400. The first thing I did was convert it to duals. That car pulled like a train and I regret selling it to this day.

I’m gonna see what difference this makes, and may convert my ‘71 to the same deal. It has the 400 as well. I don’t drive it that often. It only has 36,000 miles on it, but I think the duals will help in a lot of ways.

They say an H-Pipe increases torque, which these big cars need.

Yeah the exhaust guy I used has been “bending” pipe for 35 years. I was really impressed with his work. I’m taking my ‘60 Colony Park in next week for a new muffler. It’s ok shape wise, except it’s old enough that a baffle apparently broke down in it. It makes fluttering noise when you give it gas. It’s interesting Midas had done the muffler several years ago, but like with any exhaust work that doesn’t snap right in. They look at you like you have two heads. Glad I found a strictly exhaust guy that knows how to bend the pipe, as they say. Lol Fortunately in New Mexico exhausts are kinda a one and done deal. Feel sorry for you Jersey guys, and my buddies back up in Chicago.

We have a great custom exhaust guy that is right across the street from our manufacturing shop. People come from miles around to have him bend systems for them. He has done a bunch of work for us over the years. He built the exhaust system on the Ranchero project and a few others. That's where I learned about the H-pipe/X-pipe idea.

Well I’m anxious to get the Squire out on the open road. Both you and Country Sedan are dual advocates. If nothing else it should add about 10% or so to the horse power, and should help overall performance.
