Park in a dry place. Nobody reproduces the seal. There have been talks several times through the years of someone with a decent original part having a mold made, but nothing has ever come to fruition.

Crap...its in a dry place..but that stinks. I hope with the value of clams climbing someone will make them. I emailed Steel and got nothing back from them at this pnt..and probably won't.

And it's the perfect colors for a NW Seahawks fan! Everyone who has seen it is completely confused but loves it..it makes people smile..and that's cool! #COOLESTCLAM

Congrat's on getting and getting it home! I still could not handle the colors myself, but if you like it that is all that counts!

Ford had a very similar green in ‘72 Lime Green gold. I have an LTD in that color. I can honestly say I’ve never personally seen a blue interior in one of those Ford’s. I really love unicorn color cars like yours. Good luck with it. I’m curious how many have been ordered with that combo, bet you have if not the only one, probably less than 10 left. Does GM have a Marti report like Ford? Would be curious to see how many were originally ordered that way.

    I hear ya! But this
You're a 100% right the Unicorn colors of this obnoxious 19 ft long 1970s era wagon make it all the better!! Sex appeal was never the method of operation for this car. Would I want my Corvette those colors no.. my new truck those colors nope... everything else about this car is confusing to most hotrodders and the unique colors are perfection!
Kitschy cool and hilarious... I'm honestly surprised that a bunch of station wagon fans do not understand it more... if you think your goldish green woodgrain clad on brown interior station wagon is some how prettier...then...LOL.. I don't think you get station wagons from the 1970s if you're going to do it, do it all the way! GO HAWKS! 3 - 6 right now green on blue baby!..just like our wagons in a sea of red on black Camaros and Mustang's...if your gonna be odd...own it!.. station wagon lovers are a rare breed how can anybody hate on something super rare if that's who we are? Btw...anyone with a "sexy wagon" wanna race??

So true ..... even in my trade (autobody) I never even once changed a foam door seal for a customer because they were several hundred dollars each from the factory .... and I am talking about current production cars .... not vintage .

I would take out my frustrations by lecturing the parts supplier and he looked into it .... said they are cast in a mold to exactly fit all the contours in the door .... the factory themselves pay a high price for them.

Having said all that , the seals are a very high quality item .... thick and soft and provide an excellent seal for the life of the car. Look at Jsafe post #24 open front door .... paint worn away where seal contacts the metal .... but I bet the gasket is still good.

In my case the customer had either chewed up the seal using a coat hanger to unlock a car .... or the strip froze to the metal after a winter car wash and chunks broke off when door opened .... after a wash open all the doors for a couple of minutes even at -30* and the moisture will evaporate quickly .... you can literally see it steam off in the cold air . Most seals have a slippery silicone surface embedded at the factory which eliminates most sticking.

Only other thing that kills seals is exposure to sunlight like the rear seals of this nice 1971 wagon.

Information nobody asked for but I said it anyway .... haaa
