    I wish the seller good fortune. If I were making these high-dollar bids as a potential buyer, though, I'd first want an independent appraisal of the car.

    It makes me wonder if there are non-serious bidders in this auction, making bids just to see where the reserve is at. Once the reserve has been reached, and their curiosity is satisfied, then they may pull their bids. That has certainly happened before on eBay.

    I have to admit I've been wondering the same thing.

    I understand the rarity of the engine in this car, its low mileage, and its extraordinarily good condition, but even considering these, is it actually worth as much as $25K?

    Note that the seller must believe so, as the reserve still hasn't been met.

    Yeah, I'm very surprised to see it get so high, and reserve still not met. It's an incredible wagon. There are some die-hard Torino guys out there, and this is one rare wagon, with that color and the 429. With my love for Torinos and wagons, if I had deeper pockets, I might be a player. *sigh*
