Well I finally got it. It has been a long haul, but it is finally sitting in my garage in rainy Devon :)

Very pleased with it. When I get time Ill put together some pics on the main forum.

    Cheers
    Phil

Congrats! Does it fit in your garage? My '70 Squire fits in my garage, but just barely.

If I didn't have mine, I'd probably be foolish enough to pay the $5k for this, but it's not actually worth that much in the condition it's in. The dash pad alone will cost at least $1000 to restore. Replacing/restoring the rest of the interior components (for anyone so inclined) will not be cheap either.

If it still has the original Ford 4300 carburetor, it will probably need a rebuild. Some parts for this carb are expensive and difficult to find.

Perhaps for someone with good mechanical skills something in the $3000 - $4000 range might be about right.

Whoops, I didn't notice it had been sold when I posted my last message.

Congrats! I love this model above all others, but I wouldn't enjoy buying petrol for it at UK prices. Good luck, and let us know how you're enjoying it.

Yep, I know I probably paid too much for it but at the end of the day I've never seen one in the UK, it had to be a 429 4v and rust free. The guy I bought it off was very patient and helpful, fitted new tyres and shocks for me so I am happy. I know what you mean about the 4300 but after putting the correct temp plugs in it it runs sweet, although Ive not had chance to have a proper drive yet. If it does prove to be a problem it doesn't really matter anyway as I am going to fit a LPG gas injection system on it using Megasquirt. Which will help with the petrol price issue.

I will try and find time this evening to put a proper write up in the main forum, it has been a right saga getting it as you can see with the age of this thread.
